Be sure that you understand a chamber of vacuum.
This isn't a foodsaver like sealer! You are wrongetting somethin far better, no special bags, it can seal a 1/2 gallon mason jar of dry goods on its side, and many other things. You should know it weighs 40pounds, and should know what it can do before buying ir. It is a semi-commercial device, built well and it isn't about limited to sealing bags, it is a device with many uses.

Vacuum worked to well.
Purchased this sealer in hopes it would work better and last longer than the standard household ones.On the first test it vacuumed very well but didn't even attempt to seal the bag.Then we discovered the vacuum would not release, so we couldn't open the lid to remove the bag.After a few hours we had to insert the vacuum accessory hose to release vacuum.Second attempt same exact results.We had high hopes for this sealer. The search for a sealer continues.

This is perfect for when vacuum packing or marinating foods with liquid.
There are many vacuum sealers on the market, they range from simple air evacuation and seal to storing rolls of bags and sealing one end to create a bag as long as needed. A couple years ago I graduated from a pot water circulator to a chamber water bath and was amazed how much better control I had on long cooks. The same could be said for chamber sealers, especially in marinating and packaging. I recently started to enjoy cold brew coffee, especially Vietnamese coffee. The long brew times made the preparation lengthy as the grounds needed to be steeped for 12-24 hours, but the coffee came out smooth and rich as the bitterness that normally comes out in hot water brewing does not come out in cold brewing makes the beverage all that more enjoyable. The marinate button on this chamber sealer does an incredible job of cycling through a series of air extractions to allow the coffee to steep in cold water so that the brewing process is now less than an hour not a day. I use a marinating tray with a pressure valve which holds the grounds and water, which evacuates the air and holds it steady. The secret is the greater surface area to extract air which makes the water soak the coffee faster. Bottle or carafe brewing requires shaking or stirring to release the air pockets around the particles.This chamber sealer does the regular sealing of pouches except now with a chamber it can be soups or chili which usually can’t be done on a regular vacuum sealer without sucking out some stray liquid.For the price, this NutriChef Vacuum Chamber sealer has most of the features of commercial models at three to four times higher, perhaps professional models being bigger, sealing much more food. I have no problems with sealing half racks of beef ribs or full racks of pork ribs, roasts and other larges pieces of meat. This is a great buy, and I will enjoy finding other uses such as making cold brew!

Works very well, Cost efftive...spare parts?
This is an excellent product, with feature typically found on more expensive units, like a propper marinate setting. In addition it is not too small or too big. It features an oilless motor, provides excellent vacuum and is easy to use. besides using the NutriChef for sealing food items for storage or travel, I use it daily to reseal regular items in the refrigerator. For example, I remove bacon, from the packaging, remove the cardboard sleeve and remove the slices required. I then replace the bacon in the original bag, and there is now enough space to vacuum seal the remaining product. My food items remain fresher being vacuum packed instead of being stored in a Zip Lock.I also use it for marinating meat and also for "marinating" small wood products I produce using an Olive oil finish. The process draws the finish into the wood surface, and after completed, the item is wiped and ready for sale.I'm sure I will find many other uses, including wet forming leather products, etc.My main complaint is that there appears to be no source for consumables, like the gasket and the sealing bar. After repeated attempts, I have had no success. So the product as it is , out of the box is 5 star, but after sales service is 1 star for an average of 3 stars.

Horrible
Never vacuum sealed meat. So i returned for another one they sent me another one and it didn't vacuum seal meat either. I contacted amazon customer service and even though it said “30 day warranty of purchase” they offered me a partial refund. After i asked to speak with someone higher up, and a long time on the phone they finally got me my full refund. DO NOT BUY.

hit or miss
The first unit did not hold suction. I did attempt to identify where the leak was as another reviewer suggested though no clear leak. The second unit seems to be holding vacuum out of the box but we will see if it holds up. It could be a great unit if they can get their seals right.

Does not remove all the air out of the bags!
Easy to use, price was good. No suction tried different types of bags. Leaves air in the bags. Garbage!!!!

Update no response from NutrichefI’ve a chamber vac pkvs70sts. The operating instructions are wholly insufficient.The seal duration times depend on foods. There is nothing with the machine that indicates which level is appropriate. Other machines have a one and done and product doesn’t matter. Seems that 3-4 seconds would be enough. But that is simply a guess. There is nothing on the up and down buttons that indicates appropriator seal duration times. Nutrichef is not responding after months of trying to contact them. The deficiency with the manual is well documented in reviews going back4 years. The unit instilled being sold and there have been no upgrades.The instructions are horrible! They don’t seem to match the products functionality. Bags were missing. This was a return product it’s Very very heavy. Noise is tolerable. Even after multiple visits to the website I was still unable to register the sealer. Takes up too much space on the counter. So it gets pantry stored. The chamber makes sealing liquids easier. Been using small vac sealers for same as well, go with the chamber if you want commercial functionality. Excellent marinade function.
