Best swing yet
We got this swing for the baby we had in April, and have loved it so far. It was on sale just before we had her, so we went for it! It's a great swing for the price. I love that the seat part detaches and acts as a little rocker. We have a little deck off our living room, and I can't count the number of times I've detached the seat from the frame and brought it, along with sleeping baby, out onto the deck while my toddler played outside. Such a relief to not have to wake the baby just to go play outside. Also, it's great for when she falls asleep in it before I head to bed - I just detach the seat and carry it up to the bedroom with me. It's a little heavy and unwieldy because of its size, but you'll get used to it. And I'll take that in exchange for not having to wake her to go to bed! Pros: - Plugs into the wall. - Has the trifecta of baby soothing: sound, movement, vibration. - Smooth movement - Plush, comfy infant insert. (I mean, I assume it's comfy, my 3 month old hasn't specifically said, though.) - Five point harness - Detachable seat/bouncer/rocker for lugging around the house. I'd like to add that the part of the bouncer/rocker that comes into contact with the floor is very smooth metal, so if you're on carpet, you can just drag it instead of picking it up. This is often much more fluid than trying to carry it since it is so big, and results in fewer baby disturbances. - Can face three different directions for side-to-side or back-and-forth swinging. Cons: - Mobile doesn't move - Bouncer/rocker part is heavy - Frame has a huge footprint - The vibration on the bouncer/rocker part is very loud - I mean like a small lawnmower loud. It sounds like the battery housing door is rattling or something. I've had some success mitigating the noise by stuffing a burp cloth between the battery housing and the cloth cover. It also eats batteries like a beast; I can't get more than a few hours of use out of the vibrate function before it goes kaput. - Buttons for sound settings click loudly - doesn't seem like a big deal until you're trying to cycle through nature sounds to find the white noise, just a foot from a baby you spent the last hour putting to sleep! You feel me? I also wanted to address a complaint some people have had about the swing motor making a lot of noise. I have worked in childcare for many years in several settings and I can tell you with certainty that there is no such thing as a silent swing. They work via a motorized pendulum inside the fulcrum of the swing, so of course you will ear some knocking noises. It's unavoidable. The baby won't mind, because it's rhythmic, and you'll learn to tune it out. Conclusion: really an amazing swing. Multifunctional and very stylish looking!

Close to perfect, if not perfect.
Background: Baby is at 99% for height and weight, and grandpa wanted a swing (and tub, and bottles, and crib, and...) kept here so I can babysit as often as I get the chance. Thus I wanted a well-respected rocker/swing for what might become a pretty big infant. This one is rated for 30lbs and seems well loved by parents. Pro's: 1) It's his kryptonite. He can't stay awake in it if I sit by him, kick on the rain or the heartbeat background sounds, and set the swing on #2. 2) I really like the removable rocker. It's simply way convenient. 3) Shut it all off and he's at a great height for talking with or playing with while I'm in a kitchen chair. Cons: 1) It's kinda heavy. I don't care, but grandma is not grooving on the weight. And the rocker with junior in it is closing in on too heavy. 2) 34" wide at the base (front)? Are you kidding me? And disassembly means screwing with the wiring disconnects? (which are poorly thought out, but a non-issue for a one-time assembly. Just carefully tuck in the excess before assembling. You'll see what I mean when you get there). Since the unit makes no pretense of being portable is there some compelling reason Graco didn't just make the width adjustable? Or narrow it a bit and weight the base? Or....? If you narrow the front base bar by 2.75" by cutting the front cross leg and re-drill the interconnect holes it fits through larger doors with only a mild wiggle of the base. The little plastic front bar connector is slightly off-center, but that's cosmetic. Nobody in the family has every noticed, and it's plenty stable. Updated after 6 years: 3 babies later and this thing is all of their kryptonite. "Take him/her to grandpas house" seems to get muttered a lot when infants aren't sleeping well and mom wants to sleep. Thoughts: 1) Thank goodness for the AC adapter. 2) Are some of you reviewers trying to send your kids into orbit? How fast are you going? You're trying to mimic moms natural movement, not a carnival ride. Unless there are blankets dragging on the ground I've never even been close to full power/speed. And these kids are 90% plus in height and weight. 3) We use the removable swing more than expected. It's great to pull the rocker out and set baby by the dinner table. 4) It's super stable fore to aft, and the swing rotates as you want, so no reason to not have the base facing the most table direction. 5) I run rechargable hi-capacity batteries in the vibrating base. Not that I use it much, but once in a while, say a sick baby cranky baby, it's helpful. 6) The reclinable seat has been nice too. Up for baby to look around, down for sleeping. We're at 5 3/4 grandkids now, and I've still to see a sleeper/swing that kids fall asleep in as well. (don't let them sleep over-night in one, or even for extended periods).

Great Buy- Should make the top of your registry list!
**Update** (5 years later) Going to be using this for my second kid, had in storage and still looks like new. I had the liner separate with baby clothes and just washed it, looks perfect. All the parts still work and swings just like it did for my first born! So excited it's held up and can get more usage from it! _______________________________ I am a new mom, however, first of my friends to start having children. My friends that are now pregnant have been asking me, "What were the top lifesaver items you bought to get you through the first year?". This my friends, is one of the TOP purchases. I love my Graco DuetSoothe Swing + Rocker, Winslet. We have used this swing when baby was irritable and just wanted to be rocked to sleep, when baby had a cold, and just for a nap during the day so that my hands could be free to do some chores! The main reasons why I love this swing, and why I HIGHLY RECOMMEND it: 1) It plugs into the wall. Seriously, no more batteries to operate swings!! This has been so helpful during the nights when he needed CONSTANT movement to sleep. (Batteries still needed to power vibrating option on chair) 2) I love the swing seat. It has a nice, comfortable bucket style that cocoons the little one in safely. I have friends that bought the Fisher-Price Snugabunny Cradle 'N Swing (With Smart Swing Technology). Nice swing, but comparing the two seats... The seat is just not as nice, it's at a downward angle and the child doesn't look comfortable or as safe as in the Graco - even with the harness strapped on. 3) Easy to wash. We have had many, many explosions (need I say more?) in the swing. Little man was happy as a clam, meanwhile the seat looked pretty bad. We just took off the infant liner and threw it in the wash (added a little baking soda)- looks great. The main lining on the swing is a little more complicated to remove, especially when soiled, because you have to turn it upside-down. Suggestion- use a towel underneath! 4) Has easy turn axle to alternate swinging side-to-side and front and back. Our baby doesn't really have a preference, but I have heard stories from my patients in the hospital that they bought a nice swing and the baby didn't like the direction. They had to then go out and buy a whole new swing. That dilemma can be completely avoided with this swing! 5) The seat can detach and become a rocking vibrating chair. This was helpful when we had our little guy right out of the hospital, we were honestly in the middle of MOVING and only had a few baby items. This was great because it doubled as a bouncing chair and swing all in one. Less to move with and easy take on and off- you can do it with one hand. Things that don't really matter: 1) It can play music/soft noises (ocean, birds, etc.) 2. It has little bears for little man to look at. They don't move and when he was little, he didn't seem to care. I now tie little toys to them to extend the toys so he can play with them. In summary, I highly recommend this swing. It is incredibly soft, comfortable, safe and durable. He loves his swing for naps during the day or if I need a safe place to put him while I take a shower. If I were Oprah, I'd have a giveaway of my favorite things with this at the top of the list. I hope this review was helpful to you in your decision!

Well built, comfortable and solid customer service!!
We bought it to replace "Fisher-Price Deluxe Cradle 'n Swing, Rainforest Friend" swing. We were skeptical because the Fisher price swing had better reviews on Amazon than Graco and still it turned out to be a horrible product. But this swing rocks (pun intended :-)). Assembly was not walk in the park but still easier than Fisher-price. Just make sure you read the instructions all the way once and then read each step while doing it. The seat is larger and deeper than FP. It feels more cushiony too. Seat belts are also easier to put on than FP's and seems like they are more comfortable as my daughter doesn't fuss about them like she did in FP. Another great feature is that rocker is removable!! we take the baby to the dining area while having dinner and she rocks herself to keep her entertained. That's another great feature that rocker rocks with baby's movement so you don't have to do it. The reasons for taking one star off: 1. The hanging toy teddy from the motor don't turn. That was one feature in FP that my daughter loved. Especially when she was younger (1 month), still teddys didn't catch her attention. We bought another revolving toy to keep her entertained. 2. Motor makes clicking sound with every swing. The sound is not too loud and the baby doesn't seem to mind. We were concerned that motor might die soon (as some reviews had mentioned). We called Graco directly. They sent a new motor within a week at no charge!! that's great customer service. We never had to replace the motor. 3. At higher swing speed (3 or higher), the swings rocks very violently and hits the side bars. However, we never use anything above 1. 1 is enough to put the baby to sleep. So it wasn't any issue for us. It could be with this motor and the new motor could have fixed it but we never bothyered since level 1 is sufficient. Overall, I would highly recommend this product.

Best money I've ever spent!
I had to be talked out of purchasing higher dollar swings, as baby grows out of them pretty quickly. I ended up purchasing this one for my grandson and couldn't be more pleased. Best. Purchase. Ever. The vibration instantly calms him and the swinging mixed with vibration will usually have him asleep within a minute even when he is Vilosoraptor screeching/screaming when I put him in. If one direction doesn't soothe him quickly, I can easily flip him around to swing the other way with a simple push of a button and a quick twist. His mother has the same chair except it doesn't change swing direction or pull off to use as a manual rocker. She loves hers as well. The chair's adjustable/reclining seat lays almost flat so newborn baby can safely take a nap, and while I haven't used it in higher positions yet, I have no doubt that will be a useful feature as he grows. Since I only bring out the swing on weekends when I have my grandson, the ability to remove the swing and just carry the very lightweight frame helps tremendously with maneuvering it out of the nursery, down the hall and into the living room. It's wide, so being able to move it sideways around the door frame is very helpful. Were the swing permanently affixed to the frame, moving it would be very difficult. I also love the battery /plug in options. If I need to use the chair somewhere I don't have access to an outlet, the batteries are ready to go. I wish I could run the vibration feature on electricity, but I can see why that wouldn't be practical, moving parts and all. The white noise /music feature is another thing I love about this swing. The gentle sounds of the swing rocking are very calming, but adding that bit of white noise makes it hard for even the adults around to stay awake listening to it. I say at least once a weekend "that swing was the best money I've ever spent!".... When baby is overtired and holding him, rocking him, singing, etc. doesn't work, the swing does, and quickly. It's wonderful....and for a third of the price of the ones I was looking at before friends talked some sense into me.

Fisher-Price SUCKS. This Graco should have 'Beastmode' as one of the speed settings. Worth. Every. Penny.
I have three kids all of whom were swing babies. With each baby we had two swings - one for the bedside and one for the living room. Needless to say, we have way too much experience with infant swings. After dealing with the crappy engineering of various Fisher Price swings, specifically, Little Snugabunny, Starlight, and Zen Models, I was not going to make the same mistake with my third baby. All three had super loud motor clicking sounds, the metal frames all creaked and could never find a proper balance even on a hard flat surface, and the motors all pooped out after just a couple months. So, we have technology to build particle accelerators and stealth bombers but making an affordable plastic swing that has one main function is too much to ask. I read that the new models inexplicably have auto shut off features which, to me, is confirmation that the R & D folks are all either male and childless or just plain sadistic because what kind of monster creates a machine to sooth a cantankerous baby by is rhythmic motion and sound and then suddenly shuts off at 3am thereby waking the beast and causing mommy to inch one step closer to wrist restraints and confiscated shoelaces? I digress... This swing is far and away the best of the bunch and actually does what it advertises. This thing is a beast and has even survived my 3 year old trying to swing from it. It is quiet, never gets out of balance, and has good speed variability. The pad is easily removable for the many times that your baby will have a diaper blowout or puke or both. Worth. Every. Penny.

Perfect incline for reflux – loved it and bought again for second baby 13 years later
I originally had this Graco swing 13 years ago when my daughter was a baby, and it worked so well that I decided to purchase the same one again for my newborn son. I was pleasantly surprised to see that the design hasn’t changed much over the years—which usually means it’s working well for a lot of families. One of the biggest reasons I love this swing is the seat incline. Both of my babies had reflux, and the angle of this seat has been incredibly helpful in keeping them comfortable after feeding. My son settles into it easily and clearly enjoys the gentle motion. Pros: • The fabric is soft, durable, and easy to remove and wash • The swing plugs into an outlet, which saves a lot of money on batteries (but you can also use batteries if needed) • The seat rotates for three different swing directions • The seat detaches and becomes a portable rocker, which makes it easy to move around the house • Includes classical music and nature sounds like birds chirping and rainfall • Quick setup — it took about 5–10 minutes even though I’m not great at following instructions The swing mechanics are simple and easy to operate, which I appreciate when holding a baby. Minor note: It does take up a bit of floor space like most full-size swings, but the versatility of the detachable rocker makes up for it. After using this swing successfully for two babies 13 years apart, I can confidently say it’s been a 10/10 for our family. If you’re looking for a reliable swing with a comfortable incline—especially for babies with reflux—I highly recommend it. If your baby struggles with reflux, the incline on this swing is one of the most comfortable angles we’ve found for keeping them settled after feeds.

Many features that make a difference
Received this swing as a shower gift for my second child. Now 6 years later for my 3rd we knew we needed this swing again. With its many features it makes life easier with a new baby. Like the 180 swivele to change the direction the baby swings for when baby decides they dont want to rock side to side anymore but back and forth. Also being able detach the swing from its frame and take the baby anywhere around the house with you such as the bathroom or kitchen. It then becomes a rocker with a vibrating option. Its got alot of different music and nature sounds to choose from and the cushion is very comfy. My baby loves the swing and falls asleep in it often. Love that it also has the option to use batteries or plug into the wall. Have been using it with just batteries and its been swinging strong for 1 month now without needing to change it. Highly recommend this swing it is well worth the price

Great way to soothe the baby to sleep
This product is really great! My baby loves the tunes and she loves to sleep in that big cradle. My baby sleeps like an angel and we can be freed from swinging her in our arms for hours!

Muy útil
Me gustó mucho el diseño es hermoso, a mi bebé le encanta aun que no aguanta estar mucho tiempo. Lo único que hay que tomar en cuenta es que la función de vibración requiere batería extra.
