Fox Run Bread Warmer, Terra Cotta

I ordered this to help keep tortillas/bread warm. It seems to work really well. I can place it in the tortilla warmer at the bottom or in a bread basket and it helps to keep it very warm!

This was cute, and works well, but was smaller than I expected (which was my fault, I didn’t pay close enough attention to the dimensions)

I read the product review before buying it and it had a very short explanation of how someone had used it. The item itself did not come with any instructions. So to test it I put it in the microwave dry right out of the box and tested it in a tortilla warmer. The heat didn't last very long. I wonder if it's supposed to be soaked in water before heated (similar to a sugar bear)? I was looking forward to a nice solution for keeping my tortillas warmer longer in my tortilla warmer for family dinners without having to get up constantly during the meal to get a new warm tortilla. It doesn't seem to be measuring up to it's promise if I tested it properly.I'm not sure how I feel about this yet. Not to mention that it came in a damaged/opened package as if someone had opened it before.

I added this to a pine needle tortilla warming basket and used it as a white elephant gift and it was most coveted! Who doesn't love a warm tortilla and this is perfect....heat the warmer in the oven while you do tortillas stovetop, on the grill, or in the oven and toss them in the pine needle warming basket and once the stone is warm place it inside as well and keep adding warm tortillas and covering! Delish!

I bought 2 of these, and I like that they fit in the bread toaster -makes it easy to reheat. Based on the other reviews, I already expected that it is small and the heat won't last for a long time, so I won't shave off a star for that. I just reheat them in the toaster if needed. I place these in the bottom of the bread basket, then cover my bread with towels to keep it warm longer.

Product info says it's 4.75 in diameter and 0.5 in thick. It only measures 4.5 in diameter and 0.375 (3/8) in thick. That may not sound like a lot, but it makes a big difference in how much heat it can hold and how long it can hold it. I'm wondering if the dimensions are before it was fired? It surely shrinks in firing. But it is unethical to give those dimensions. The dimensions should be for the finished product. I will probably keep it and use it but only until I can find another better one which is bigger and can hold more heat. Be warned.
