So far? So Good!
I put up with a black padded seat from Wally World for years while waiting for them to stock another as replacement. Never happened and I then began on-line shopping with Amazon and soon found this one to add to an order. So glad I did.I am also glad I ordered it in the spur of the moment, as an add-on to an order that had already been placed. Because it was only then that I read the reviews while waiting for delivery. Otherwise I may have refrained from doing so and missed out on what so far has worked out to be a good product, seemedly without flaw.Weighing in at just six pounds shy of a whopping three hundred, I was a bit concerned at first about some few reported structural failures. So I began a bit timidly. But those pre-dawn flop-downs prior to coffee soon precluded other than the most rigorous of stress test imaginable.Over time it has now proved itself up to the task. But beyond that it is also a thing of beauty and a wonder to behold compared to that cracked plastic coated foam product of "crap-ware" from China's main distributor here stateside known as "Wally-World." Plus, it STAYS clean with an occasional spritz and quick wipe down. Then the removal feature is readily at hand for those occasional intense detailing from top to bottom every bathroom needs. Now for the one problem I had anticipated as a realistic hazard of switching from a padded to non-padded seat in an unheated bathroom, with a morning mean winter temperature of about 55 degrees or less. That of a frosty place to park the posterior portion in the A M. I was pleasantly pleased!Though admittedly cool, not near so much as one may think, shifting swiftly to unnoticeable. Now it could be that I am actually one of the original Dead-End Kids, but I was seriously pleased to find the amount of comfort to be had in a non-padded seat. Well worth the tradeoff in attractiveness of this lil beauty, sez I! So listen not to the nay-Sayers and have one of these.. I may get another just to hang on the wall and look at while sitting so pleased with my purchase!!__LOL!

Solid, good quality, and the color matches!
This is a nice, solid wooden seat. My toilet is blue, which is an unusual color these days. The color of this seat (Sky Blue) was a perfect match.Installation is very easy and straightforward. You can tighten the nuts with your fingers alone, but I'd suggest a wrench or pair of pliers to really lock them down. Once I did so, the seat was SOLID; it doesn't wiggle at all.The item description says that the hinges allow easy removal of the lid for cleaning purposes. That would be nice, but the hinges on my lid do NOT allow removal. This was not too terrible for me, as I had never seen a toilet with a removable lid before.

These are the best seats you can buy
Having worked in a hardware store that stocked several brands of seats, I can tell you these are the only ones I would ever buy. Very solid unlike the plastic pieces of junk that I replace with these.

Bad customer service
I've purchased 14 toilet seats from this company. I love the soft seats despite the fact that they don't last long. I ordered this wood one to use as a back up. When I finally went to use it I noticed it was cracked. I contacted the company and they said it was out of warranty of course. As a courtesy given my previous purchases I think they should've replaced it. I will order Kohler from this point on.

diffent way to attach than the original way
Molded Wood Toilet Seat. Its got a nice color that matches my old home. Its perfect color match to the rest of the bathroom.its nice and solid, weight, and texture. Its easy to put on and its different than others. You screw it in...then plop the seat on the hinges and its done. Totally different than the regular way. is it better? is it worse? neither. Its just as good.the one thing i have an issue with. is that when you clean it...or you get water on it. it leaves a spot or streaks when you clean it. It never looks new. It never looks like it did when it was new and clean. it looks like you cleaned it and left a water spot on it.If you found this review helpful. Please click Yes at the bottom of this review. Fantastic Product, Easy Installation!
This was a great find. This product is very heavily built, and the installation was a breeze. I will post a video to go along with it. The quality is on a commercial level, and I feel like we will get many years of use out of this well made seat. It is ergonomically designed, with comfort in mind. Also, due to the finish, there should never be the shock of a cold seat experienced with this product. Included are 2 studs with can be hand screwed through most bowl designs, the nut feature a wide flange for holding as you tighten. Unlike the old school installation - no pliers are necessary, as the nuts self-hold as you finish up with any modest sized Phillips head screw driver. Once the studs are in place, simply rotate the locking seat fittings counter-clockwise, align with the secured studs, then press firmly straight down. They will lock into position, flush with the bowl, then rotate the locking mechanism 1/4 turn clockwise, and VOILA! Removal is a snap, simply rotate counter-clockwise, and pull straight up - one at a time. The first time to remove took considerable force, subsequent removal was easy. Overall, great product, much more than anticipated, only complaint is that during shipping it should be packaged with a thin layer of that soft foam, as our seat arrived with several 'chips' where the lid meets the seat. These white spots were all just 'dot' sized, and were easily concealed with a permanent marker. I would have deducted a star, if not for the sheer overall quality, for this -- but stand by the 5 star rating.
