When we installed our shower we put plywood behind it so we could install things like this without worry about studs. This foot rest is high quality. Not loose in any way. Its not only great for shaving but also for washing calves and feet easier. My husband and I love this. I've also used it as a little shelf to get my pump shampoo easier. My husband put a bead of silicone on screws & hole to water seal it

This little gadget was easy for my husband to install and it makes shaving my legs in the shower so much easier. I wouldn’t step on it. Just rest the weight of your leg on it while shaving to be safe. I stood in the shower and had my husband move it up and down and to different locations in the shower while I tested the perfect height for comfort and ease of use before he installed it.

I did not buy this to rest my foot on fir shaving. We have a very tall bed. I bought it to help me get in bed so as not to have a stool to trip on. My husband was always tripping on the little stool I was using before. It is very sturdy. Although my husband drilled an additional hole on each side since the one screw on each side wasn't good enough for full body weight. I love how it folds up so as to be out of the way. And with extra anchorage the step is definitely sturdy enough. So if your using it for what it's actually supposed to be used for you will be happy with it and it's only 2 screws.

I installed this footrest in my shower and it worked great. I didn't want to drill into my tile so I used high strength epoxy which worked well.

This was a good idea, but is hard to implement. The only way to attach it is to drill holes in your shower wall. I knew that wasn't possible, given the acrylic wall in my new shower. But since most showers have hard surfaces I assumed I could just glue it on with strong tape or glue. Well, I was so wrong. I tried both and neither worked to attach this. It's sturdy and therefore heavy, and my fault for making the assumption that "sticking" to my wall would work. After giving up I couldn't even give it away. Everyone I know has the same problem. So I'm really writing this to save others from making the same mistake. If you have a shower wall that can be penetrated then I think this would work. Otherwise, save yourself the hassle and find another way to shave your hairy legs.

Pleased with product but it would have been helpful to have written instructions. This foot rest will add to my safety in shower.

I did not want to drill into my tile, so I used good 2 way tape. Let it adhere over night. Then caulked around it and the holes to prevent water getting to the tape. I then let it set for another day before using. I don't put a lot of weight on it anyway, but it is holding great. No complaints. The piece its self is very well made and solid. I highly recommend.
