Great story
I am in awe of Anna Jacobs stories. Every page has suspense in it. I can't put your books down. Thank you for writing great adventures in the lives of your characters. I appreciate greatly clean literature without vulgar language and inappropriate sexual content. You have in me a loyal reader and I can't wait to read your book.

Yesterday's Girl
I have enjoyed reading this book as I have nearly read most of Anna Jacobbs books and her other books under the pen name of Shannah Jay. Anna has a way of letting you feel you are there as part of the lives you are reading about. I have read her books faster than I have ever read books before. Thank you Anna.

Yesterday's Girls by Anna Jacobs
Yesterday's Girls by Anna Jacobs is a delightful, thought provoking story set during and after World War One. The protagonist is Vi, Violet Gill. She's locked into an impoverished existence serving her mother and a family corner store. A meagre existence in hard times is rendered impossible curtesy of an ignorant, self-obsessed, overbearing, sexist, drunk of a stepfather. However an opportunity to escape comes when Lady Bingram invites Vi to join the Aides in support of the war. It's the making of Vi. As an Aide she has purpose, self worth and exposure to the respect that comes from opportunity. With the war over the Aides disband and Vi has nowhere to go but back from where she came. The expectation around her is to re-live her past all over again but this is not something Vi is prepared to consider. The setting for this story enraptures many wonderful emotions, the brutal impact of the war, the rapid evolution of women's suffrage and the frustration of fighting to preserve a lifestyle that has already disappeared. This story is both enjoyable and empowering, five stars.

Anna Jacobs never disappoints her readers!
ALWAYS the twists and turns, surprises galore, and the wonderful characters vrs. the villains in Anna Jacobs' stories. In this story, it ends up with children teaching their father an important lesson!

Loved this story
I couldn’t put this book down. I loved the families and characters in the story and the way they changed their lives and helped each other and built a community. The period after the 14-18 War in England was hard and seeing how these ordinary people took control of their lives and flourished is so inspiring. A joy to read.
