Homefire Ecoal Long Lasting Smokeless Fuel, 20kg, White

I have had a log burner for years. The issue now is finding a decent type of 'coal' that is smokeless. I was surprise to find that this is a coal alternative - it still looks like coal - it has a long burn time - 20 pieces will last for around 14 hours !! It means less spent on wood. The 'coal' is made from 80% crushed Olive stones. Produces no smoke. And the price is more than reasonable. The flames appear bright. My burner is a standard small one. We learnt during the last power cut that it produces enough heat to boil water, milk, can use the top to cook food too. We did wrap a potato in foil and left in the burner - as the coal burns so long and retains such a good heat the potato was mostly inedible - saying that if you are hungry enough you will eat nigh on anything !!! WELL WORTH A BUY 10/10

Excellent product, chucks out absolutely loads of heat! They may seem expensive, but I put one layer of these on top of my kindling and put my logs on to of that, makes the logs last much much longer and the whole stove hotter. I'd burn just these if I could afford it, really great product.

Does the job and keeps you warm at reasonable price.

Wonderful coal, could nt be without it

Its alright. Not easy to light and thats coming from twice sized anthracite. Not any hotter than typical. Nicer ash than typical, powdery, very soft and fine. Definitely not uniform shaped or sized pieces. I think it would be oh wow that’s great value for money, if 25% cheaper. Then it’s a, ok, good cheap option. If this cost any higher I would rate lower. Its just, fine. It seems to oversell itself otherwise i’d have little to say. That long lasting point. Not so sure despite another review. So it doesn’t apply universally. Thus ^

Really impressed with this ecoal. It burns a lot longer than my previous Brazier coal. The oval are a lot bigger too so use less. Last till the morning on my woodburner.

A truly awful product. Meant to be an eco-friendly product, with 80% less smoke, but no 80% + smoke more like. Easy to light, well no. After 1 hour there was not even a semblance of flame or glowing ember, and after 3 hours approximately 60% of the coal was unlit. I have lit many fires over the years but this product was appalling. A case of the description being widely off the mark. I won’t be buying it again, 20 kg of coal is totally uneconomical to return. Hugely disappointing, So Dear customers beware.

Burns well and gives out good heat. Lovely to have coal delivered!
