Ernie Ball Power Slinky Nickel Wound Bass Guitar Strings, 55-110 Gauge (P02831)

Man these are some fun strings! I mean it's only a few bucks to mess around with such a fat sound. If you are not having fun you can always go back to your old strings and you are only out a few bucks. These have all the tension of a deep dark beast, but they still bend. They are indeed slinky. The have held up to tuning after I tuned them initially once or twice. They look great especially that chunky wound E, I played flat strings for a long time. These look heavier and fatter but they do play slinky. With clean bright highs and with moody punchy lows.

Sounded great. I have a 4 string PJ bass by Jackson, the strings were easy to install and sounded great. the first few tunes sounded kinda strange because i wasnt used to this thickness and i think it took a while to stay in tune, but after use these sound great and stay in tune for days. (As for the photos yes I know i tuned the top and bottom string backwards)

I use Super Slinky’s on my electric guitars, so I figured some for my low end Ibanez bass would be a good idea. I got the super slinky’s the last time, but wanted something a little heavier to hold up to my more aggressive playing. Not because I’m good, but rather my form plucking form sucks; as do the pickups. The Power Slinky’s are beasts. The low E has a noticeable punch and sustain. They are a little harder to play, but not much more so than the Super Slinky’s. A good value that enhances the sound of a crappy bass. Would recommend.

These have great action, great sound, and are a great deal! Need I say more?!

After paying far too much at local music shops for electric bass strings, I thought I'd give Amazon a try. I'm also a dedicated Rotosound fan and have used their heavy gauge roundwounds for years. Considering I'm on a tight budget and I liked the gauge of this set, I decided to give some Ernie Ball strings a try. So far I've been pleased. They've got a nice heavy sound that I like and feel like quality made strings. I've had to re-tune my bass a few times after the strings "settled" in, but otherwise I've been happy with the sound and value and would gladly recommend these strings to any bass player who's on a tight budget but needs good heavy gauge strings.

Ernie Ball strings are affordable, reliable, and always available. As a bassist going for darker sounds, stepping up to these chonks certainly helped!! Immediately noticed the difference, and can't imagine I will ever use a standard gauge string set on my metal 4 string again!! I will have a few sets of these as backups at all times now.

These strings produce a wonderful fat sound; I feel like I am sonically ballin'... you know what I mean, Vern?

Le trovo leggermente più rigide al tocco e con tensioni più equilibrate tra le 4 corde, rispetto ai set di altri produttori. Per circa un mese mantengono un'ottima brillantezza (comunque più moderata rispetto alle stainless steel), con alti mai fastidiosi. Hanno un carattere abbastanza aggressivo, che le rende ottime per generi come il Rock e il Funk, ma si dimostrano molto versatili in qualunque contesto
