Rock Climbing for the Absolute Beginner: Your Adventure Starts Here Every inch upward was a battle, not just against gravity, but against my own doubts. And when I finally reached the top, I realized something profound: climbing isn’t just about scaling walls. It’s about discovering your strength, your courage, and the incredible resilience you never knew you had. That’s precisely what this book is about. Whether you’ve never touched a climbing wall or you’re curious about the sport, this is the ultimate beginner’s guide to rock climbing—fun, approachable, and packed with practical know-how to get you off the ground safely and confidently. “From ancient roots to modern cups, tea carries health, history, and opportunity.” What You’ll Discover Inside The Thrill & Philosophy of Climbing I’ll show you how this sport challenges your body, sharpens your mind, and teaches you life lessons along the way. You’ll discover why so many climbers describe the sport as both a workout and a form of meditation. The Different Worlds of Climbing In this book, I break down the unique styles of: • Bouldering – low walls, big moves, no ropes. • Top-Rope Climbing – perfect for beginners with maximum safety. • Sport Climbing – testing your endurance with bolted routes. • Traditional Climbing – the ultimate adventure for those who crave self-reliance. Speak the Language: Climbing Lingo & Commands I’ll guide you through the essential terminology and communication techniques that will make you sound (and feel) like part of the climbing community from day one. Essential Gear Guide I’ll walk you through everything you’ll need as a beginner: • Shoes • Harness • Chalk & chalk bag • Belay device • Carabiners • Helmet • Climbing rope • Crash pads • Clothing designed for movement Knot Tying Masterclass One of the most vital skills every climber must master is knot tying. That’s why I’ve included step-by-step tutorials with over 80 pictures to walk you through the essential knots and anchors. You’ll tie them with confidence—whether indoors or hanging off a crag outdoors. Climbing Techniques That Work Great climbers don’t just muscle their way up a wall—they use technique. I’ll show you the fundamentals of handholds, footholds, and movement so you can climb smarter, not harder. You’ll also learn how to fall safely (yes, losing is part of climbing too). Training Beyond the Wall Rock climbing demands strength, flexibility, and endurance. That’s why I dedicate a section to off-the-wall training routines that condition your entire body and keep you injury-free. You’ll learn how to build climbing-specific strength to progress faster. Transition to the Great Outdoors Indoor gyms are a fantastic start, but nothing compares to climbing outside on real rock. I’ll prepare you for the transition, covering outdoor etiquette, safety, and the mindset shift you’ll need when tackling nature’s routes. Taking It to the Next Level Climbing is a lifelong journey. I’ll show you how to continue your progression with advanced skills, outdoor climbs, and continuing education so that your passion only grows with every new challenge. “Turn your passion for tea into profit: from healing herbs to customer-ready blends.” Your Climbing Journey Begins Now If you’ve ever wanted to try climbing but felt intimidated or didn’t know where to start, this book is your ticket up the wall. With detailed instructions, inspiring insights, and practical safety tips, you’ll be equipped to climb with confidence. So lace up your shoes, chalk your hands, and get ready—because your first adventure begins here. Scroll up and hit BUY NOW to start your climbing journey today Review: Great tips and suggestions for the novice climber - If you looking for a rush then this book is for you. ‘Rock Climbing For Absolute Beginners’ goes into detail about the thrills of rock climbing. In the book, Moore says that our ancestors used to climb as a fundamental need in order to survive and to scavenge for food. Flash forward to modern times and children climb monkey bars and trees. As we become adults, these needs become obsolete as we become more and more sedentary, settling down with office jobs or spending our weekends on the couch binge-watching TV. Our needs to canvas a rocky mountainside finding grips and footholds no longer directly applies to our lives. But like Moore states, this reality does not have to be so. There is a varied answer as to why we climb. Some climb for a full-body workout to train their body’s muscles. While others see it as a hobby that correlates directly to their love for the outdoors. The book explains that whether you are climbing for the above reasons or for your very own reasons, it is not too late to start learning. But like with learning anything new, climbing does not come without its challenges. ‘Rock Climbing For Absolute Beginners’ names several benefits to rock climbing that includes a great workout and improving your flexibility. It can help build endurance, strengthen and tone muscles. It also boosts brain functions and bodily awareness. Rock climbing is known for being great for yoga and meditating enthusiasts. Moore advises us to always check and recheck gears and to be aware that jewelry or other accessories could get caught up in the rocks and to duly remove them before climbing. As a caveat, the book also advises to not depend on books or online tutorials and to always refer to a skilled and experienced climber for help and advice on safety concerns. ‘Rock Climbing For Absolute Beginners’ is filled with great tips and suggestions for the novice climber. The book was also packed with helpful illustrations that went on to illuminate the reader. A great guide for the people starting out in rock climbing, I highly recommend this book for beginning rock climbers. Review: Focus on safety - Would like more Information on technique. Some of the advice on training and technique is very general. I would call this more of a guide on equipment and safety than climbing itself

Very Informative
This book is a great introduction to Rock Climbing and all the various aspects of it. I would recommend this book to anyone just looking for somewhere to start.

major room for improvement
Ai slop used for some photos not giving clear details about what holds, certain gear, and body movements should look like. More geared towards top rope and sport climbing than bouldering. Would not recommend for a brand new climber as there are more informative books with proper photos for better safety

Awesome book for beginner climbers
I just started climbing about a month ago and climb at 5.11, and v5 boulder. This book has helped me with a lot of my basic technique and answered a lot of questions for my transition from gym to crag. 10/10 will recommend to a friend or any new climber in my gym.

AI generated
Some information was alright. Super basic as expected from a “Absolute Beginners” book. Was thoroughly let down when they advertised that it had a lot of photos and 90% of them are just AI garbage. If the person that wrote this was actually a climber they could've easily supplied some higher quality and more informative imagery.

Very basic and no digital download
This book is extremely basic and there is no digital downloads as stated in the item description. To be honest if you have had an hour of tuition or climbed with a friend then it will have covered most of what is in this book
