VTP 050 FT Spirotop Air Release Valve - 1/2" NPT Female

I have seen these products used commercially and much larger than these units so when it came time I had a need for one it had to be one of these. I find their products are of high quality & made to last. My previous unit is like the one pictured here at Amazon where it had the 1/2 FIP fitting. The unit must have been redesigned since the last time I had purchased one many years back and the picture here at Amazon does not reflect the newer design that I had recently purchased. I also noticed the product is now referred to as Spirotherm and it has an internal fitting that is 1/2" FIP and an outside that is 3/4 MIP This is still a quality product that does the job of releasing the air from your system without any release of water.

There is nothing to dislike. I have gone through 2 other makes and they constantly stopped working and I had to keep adjusting the screw top to stop the water flow and only allow air. There is no adjustment on this one. I have an air problem as each time the pump starts and prims it pulls in air bubbles. You can feel all the air in the top of my filter blow out the air and stops with no water leaking out. The others always allowed water to run until I think the cotton absorbed water and expanded and then plugged up. The next time the pump started up and if the cotton was still wet, it did not allow air to escape and then my pump would not up any pressure until I manualy unscrewed the cap and let out air and the turned the cap down to stop the water from running out. This one you can install it and forget it. Worked every time.

I used the valve on my in floor hydronic heat system. The picture and description show a female connection. The valve I received was male. Instead of returning it, I replace the connector on my heat system to female.

Hands down the best air elimination vent for hydronic heating systems.

In installing the Spirotop VTP 050 FT (Threaded),the new high efficiency boiler now works extremely quiet. We experienced gurgling with the water flow in copper piping but when the Spirotop was installed there was no noise, none at all. The air worked itself out of the system within one day. We would highly recommend Spirotop to all those seeking to maintain a top notch system. I believe there is a twenty year manufacturer warranty.
