Excellent Drama
Missed the show when it aired as I rarely watch live TV anymore but had to buy the DVD after friends and family said how great Traces is.The show itself is fantastic. Great cast, well paced, well written, superbly acted. Also nice to see Dundee instead of our usual Glasgow or Edinburgh based Scottish shows.5 stars for the actual show but rated this 4 stars as there are multiple glitches on a few episodes which is a bit of a downer considering the show looks like money was spent on it but the DVD errors make it look a bit "made for pixelated YouTube viewers". Maybe I just had a duff couple of discs?Again, great show. Would like to see more of these characters.

VeryGood
Great six parter starring Molly Windsor and Martin Compston. A lot of it filmed in Dundee. Good story, likeable characters and good twists and turns. Excellent Forensic science scenes too.

Worth buying and viewing
It's not 'my favourite DVD', but it's by no means my least favourite either. The acting is good, but IMHO there are weak points in the script and screenplay. Like a lot of modern series, there is too much going on. I prefer series which concentrate on the main story line without having lots of sub-plots which serve only to distract. This is a personal view.

Molly!!
This is VERY good and a real shame it was hidden away on Alibi which I guess gets very few viewersMolly Windsor is fast becoming my favourite actress after 'Three Girls' (for which she won a BAFTA) and last years 'Cheat' and Martin is always top rate so this couldn't fail in my eyes...good cast intriguing story and excellent setting and production-highly recommended

Somewhat needless drama
Nothing you'll see will be new, while the idea looks promising. But the mystery is buried underneath unbelievable actions and "coincidences". The big reveal at the end turns out to be something of a let down. What really happened is told concurrently in flashbacks to make it look artsy. Too bad.

Awful, waste of time and money
This was so pathetically cliched that I could not get past episode 2. From the 'damaged' central character who starts an important new job but does very little actual work but finds plenty of time to wander around the town through to the other cardboard cut-out cast members, this is so poorly written and contrived this is unbearable. Very much in the woke era of tough, unsympathetic female characters and weak feeble male characters, this is unbalanced and pure tosh. Main character looks about 17 but gets drunk and high on drugs and then has unprotected sex with 2 strangers in less than 24 hours but her only concern is taking the morning after pill; for a modern drama there should have been other things for her to worry about...
