On ELECTRIC LADYLAND Jimi Hendrix stretched and experimented in the studio, going beyond the power-trio format on what would be his last studio album with the Experience. ELECTRIC LADYLAND was revolutionary in it's scope and execution. Using New York City's Record Plant as a gateway to free expression, Hendrix traversed an abstract landscape containing compositions as weird and wonderful as "... And The Gods Made Love" and "1983... (A Merman I Should Turn To Be)."Simultaneously looking forwards and backwards, Hendrix mixed in a song reminiscent of his time on the chitlin' circuit (Earl King's "Come On [Part 1]"), a Bob Dylan favorite ("All Along The Watchtower"), and one of his snappiest singles ("Crosstown Traffic"). Although Hendrix produced and wrote most of this masterpiece, others weighed in with their own contributions. Noel Redding penned "Little Miss Strange," and other guests such as Al Kooper and Buddy Miles showed up to play. Traffic's Steve Winwood and Jack Casady of Jefferson Airplane also made cameos, appearing on this classic album's spiritual center, "Voodoo Chile (Slight Return)." LP Track Listing: LP1 1.... Hendrix Electric Ladyland
A new cover design for a classic Hendrix album. This was his third (and last) studio album. So good to hear the music on a fresh new purchase. Still as good today as when I first heard it all these years ago. Some classic tracks that were released as singles, Voodoo Chile (slight return), Burning of the Midnight Lamp, Cross Town Traffic, Gypsy Eyes and All Along the Watchtower. Sixteen tracks in all on this double LP and quite an amazing original stereo mix which floats between speakers. It certainly has stood the test of time as it was released in 1968! Hendrix at his best.

Grandissimo.
Terzo disco di Hendrix, dopo "Are You Experience" e "Axis Bold As Love" e a questo punto la sua discografia termina, ma non sarà cosi perchè dopo la sua morte usciranno una infinità di dischi dal vivo, la maggior parte di ottimo livello e a distanza di più di cinquant'anni non ha raggiunto il termine. Se nei primi due dischi i suoi pezzi avevano una durata limitata in questo che come LP era doppio, i tempi si allungano e Jimi può mostrare tutto il suo valore. Inoltre in studio si aggiungono musicisti che ne esaltano le incisioni. Sopra di tutto ci sono "Voodoo Chile" uno dei suoi miglior brano, "Still Raining, Still Dreaming" che con l'intervento di sax da al pezzo un'impronta jazzata, e "All Along The Watchtower" dove l'autore Bob Dylan ne resta meravigliato nel modo che la esegue. Disco capolavoro, incisione ottima, consigliato a tutti, disco che non può mancare in una discografia. Amazon tutto bene.

Edición en dos vinilos. Packaging muy bueno, con cartón calidad, durito y con buena impresión.El sonido es sorprendentemente bueno para un álbum de 1968. Se ven bien prensados, sin defectos de superficie tipo piel de naranja.Sobre el contenido,... una obra maestra. El tercer y último álbum de The Jimi Hendrix Experience lanzado en 1968. Impresindible, obviamente. Como el resto de trabajos de Hendrix... desgraciadamente cada vez más olvidado.

Un álbum que debería estar en la colección musical de todos. A pesar de ser de medio siglo atrás, sus canciones tienen ese ritmo peculiar y ese sentimiento de rock que jamás pasará de moda.
