[Just kidding.]The bond between my daughter and her mom may have caused me envy at times and made me feel like an appendage but those feelings were short lived when I saw the fruit of that growing relationship. WE dad's also have our days in the sun with our daughters.A fathers day card last. There was a drawing on the cover of a young father with his soon to be teen daughter sitting by the river fishing. Dad you may think I was not listening when you told me about life. You may think I was not listening when you told me about love family and faith. You may think I was not listening when you told me about boys and a little of what I should expect and the way I should be treated. [You may not believe this but you and mom both have almost identical opinion's of what boys want.]You may think I was not listening but I was and the proof is of what I have become. [She has a masters degree in special education.] And the mistakes I have made well they are mine all mine, and no fault could be laid to yours or moms account.Now the review. You know, there comes a time in your life when you appreciate a little "girl time" with close family and/or friends. Thats what this book is like. A couple of hours of sitting, laughing, crying and dare I say, bonding with the author. I read it as if the author and I were friends, sitting together somewhere just chatting about life.The insights in this book brought a smile to my face, some made me laugh out loud right where I was. There were moments I could really relate to what she was saying, as if I had been the one to write those excerpts. Memories that came back to me, and at times scenes she painted that I only hope will play out in my future.Ms Townsend takes a slightly more serious tone in this book than her last, and you know what.... it works! I will be buying a few copies for the women in my life for Christmas presents. But shhh, don't tell them that!

The book is a difinite read. When I was reading, I could see myself through the years through the author's words. There was some saying and advice that I had not heard but did not surprise me. The book was like a conversation(s) that you would have with a close friend, talking about- Why did we do that? I really enjoyed the book.

Kind of stupid. I thought it was going to be hilarious but it is actually extremely depressing considering she has to remind you of what you are going to become into old age. Pretty sad. DOn't read this unless you want to reflect on how fast your life is going to go by and how you are supposed to revel in turning into a shriveled prune who can;t lose weight and has to deal with menopause and all the other things she felt compelled to "revel" in. Revel indeed.... Suit yourself! I'll be fighting it every step of the way!

This was a very good book which will appeal to all women of different ages. The title makes you think of more humorous than it is. As a reader over 65 years old I remember passages, men are from Mars and women are from venus and many humorous books about mamas. This book touches all of these. It also gives possible insight of younger and older women in today's world. I particularly liked the list of famous women in the chapters according to ages.

This was funny and brought back a lot of memories growing up in The South.

This is a really nice well written and humous book to read. A bit of a walk down memory lane for some of us. I did enjoy reading this book you will too.
