NOW Solutions, Certified Organic Shea Butter, Travel Size, 3 oz

I have been in search for a shea butter that does not have the traditional strong "nutty" scent; that's organic; that absorbs into the skin easily and effectively; and that does not irritate my face when used as a moisturizer. This product meets all requirements! I cannot tell you how many brands I have suffered in search for the right one. I have very sensitive skin so it's difficult for me to find even natural butters that I can use on my face that do not cause irritation. Every brand I've tried that claims to be organic with no added ingredients other than pure raw organic shea butter has caused my face to react negatively. But NOT this brand. The NOW Solutions, Certified Organic Shea Butter has virtually no scent; although yes, it is grainy to the touch, it melts like butter when rubbed onto the skin; I experienced no irritation in the evening when I applied it right before bedtime; and it's incredibly moisturizing. Is it expensive? Somewhat. Compared to other brands on the market, this one can be expensive. However, considering the frustrating process I have endured to find this gem, the quality is worth the cost. Hopefully the price will decrease in time or another brand will step up and produce a better or equal product at a more competitive price. But, honestly, I'm no longer searching. Just a side note, due to the sensitive nature of my skin, I only apply this once a day on my face and after every shower on the rest of my body.

Cannot believe how hard it was to find a 100% shae butter product with no added water or scent. Needed a moisturizer that works for paraffin wax dips and this is perfect. It does feel a little gritty on cold days (I am talking it was 16 degrees below zero and pretty chilly in our house), but it smooths out with body heat and some extra effort to rub it into the skin. Very happy and now know I can order a full-sized product for daily use.

Th2 jars of NOW Organic Shea Butter that I ordered came within a few days of ordering them. I was well-pleased with the price, the packaging, and the product. NOW Shea Butter had been suggested over other brands by a shop-keeper as a high quality product. I bought a jar of NOW Shea Butter from him, as well as a slightly less expensive shea butter jar from another manufacturer. He was right. The NOW Shea Butter did not have as hard a grit as the cheaper brand. I am sold on NOW Organic Shea Butter for softening my very dry skin. Only a small amount is needed. The natural "grit" melts easily and disappears into a soft, thick. rich cream in warm palms rubbed together. And I really like to use a skin product that has no chemicals. I gave one jar to my son for a Christmas present, as he has inherited my dry, itchy skin. He just texted me that he has started using it on his hands, and is well=pleased. I will definitely purchase this product again.

This shea butter is a good price point, but it's crumby until it melts between your hands when you rub them together. It feels tacky until it wears off or soaks in. My hands are still pretty rough after using it for a good month. I like another brand which comes in a tin box.

I bought this to go on a flight since my country considers shea butter a liquid and we can only have small containers of liquids so i couldn't bring my large container. This worked exactly as I needed it to. I use shea butter for my skin and hair and this did well. Good moisturization. Helped keep my hair from panicking in a drier climate. No scent at all. Very easy to get out just the small amount I need at a time. This is a pale white whereas my usual one is more yellow but I believe this is slightly processed leading to no scent or color.

This pure, organic shea butter is a Godsend for me. All my life I’ve suffered from dry skin. Heels and hands that cracked and bled sometimes. I finally found this emollient, yes, not cream or lotion, and I haven’t had a cracked heel in years. It is VERY thick. I take a small amount, about dime-sized, and warm it in my hands until it melts. I then smooth it on my feet, hands and anywhere I’ve got dry skin. It’s inexpensive and has no discernible fragrance. It is white and is clear when it melts. Sometimes when I get a large jar the butter is not totally homogenized, it’s grainy. Still good, I warm it in the microwave until it melts a little. I’ve noticed that when I purchase these smaller jars the butter’s always smooth. I like that. It takes a long time to dry on my skin, I typically use it after I bathe and put on socks so it doesn’t get on the floor, etc. If your work requires a lot of hand washing, if you have chronically dry skin this might work for you.

This batch was very grainy for some reason - not like in the past. Makes it harder to use.

This stuff is AMAZING. It doesnt smell bad. Its light weight and is fast absorbing. I knit and crochet. Ive tried everything from expensive brands to Vaseline and Aquaphor but nothing really helped. This will be in my knitting bag especially during the winter.

Among many very pricey options of other brands, this one is a steal with this price. It doesn’t stick at all and keeps the skin very moisturized. It doesn’t have a fragrance or odor of it’s own. I write honest reviews of products on somewisegirl and I can safely say I recommend this as a safe and efficient option.

Loved this product! I use it as a facial moisturizer and it works great! Did not cause me any breakouts.
