Standard Motor Products AC151 Idle Air Control Valve

I installed this and of course I did not read the instructions. My RPM was about 3000. So before you install disconnect the negative terminal incase you need to do a computer reset. Once the old on is pulled out make sure the new plunger is sticking out the same distance. The newer one was about a 1/4" shorter than my old one. A few counter clockwise turns corrected the length. Reinstalled it, hooked up the battery and it ran perfectly. Very pleased and easy fix.

The Air Idle Control Valve does the job, but has required several manual adjustments to the depth of the valve throw. The Computer manages the idle from there, but it wasn't right from the start, so it I've had to remove it and adjust the needle out so that it closes far enough for normal idle.

i had a problem with my jeep not running on idle, cleaned intake manifold and replace the idle control mod. fixed my problem , rather just cleaning up the manifold or replacing the mod. or both i don't know , was not going to take it apart and put it back together with out the new mod. be sure to adj. the arm before you bolt it on.

It works! IF THIS IS YOUR FIRST TIME REPLACING THE IDLE AIR CONTROLLER AND THE ENGINE RPM GOES UP AND STAYS UP WHEN YOU TURN IT ON give it a minute. The computer will start to gradually bring it back down to normal idle. I didn't know this and it took me a few starts and stops before I had the patience to see what would happen.

Failed after a year. Hard to believe with standard.

Perfect fit on my jeep grand cherokee 4.0, did not have the little spring exposed like in the picture which. You can clean these to restore a smooth idle but my got damaged for being mishandled.

When I turned the engine over, it revved up to 1800 rpm and then it gradually came down to 750 rpm.

This is a great deal. It smoothed out the idle, even with A/C on.
