Yes, they are expensive but remember this is a Solo fire pit we are talking about. If you want inexpensive then just get a standard fire pit from Walmart. These are well-built from quality materials and for the Stove perfectly. It will turn color, which is expected, so don’t fall in love with the shiny finish it comes in. It will prevent large embers from flying out, but the tiny ones will still get through. Not an issue since these fizzle before hitting anyone or anything. It’s the big ones that are dangerous and this shield works for those. The ridges for holding the s’more (or hot dog) sticks is a nice touch. And the handles are made if high grade and heavy steel.

The design is kind of busy & functional, rather than sleek like the fire pit, but it helps keep embers from flying away while not inhibiting your ability to add wood to the fire. Given the wildfire risk where I live, it’s a mandatory accessory.

It is very well built and versatile. I use pellets but you can also use split wood. Fire burns nice an hot. Best part is no smoke

Yes, it’s expensive. I wish this came with my bonfire. Is an amazing accessory that is absolutely needed. High-quality and very durable. I have this on a wood deck, and I have absolute confidence that nothing terrible will happen.
