Love these sand timers! I initially purchased these because our pediatrician recommended using an hour glass sand timer (from one of our game boxes) to help our child know how long they had to sit at the dinner table. Now I have used them for much for than that! They are great visuals for time. I love the large size which makes it fun and easy to see from across the room and hard to loose. I have also used these to keep track of my personal reading time. I also like that angled sides that allow you to set them on their sides to "pause" the time without them rolling. They are fairly accurate - nice to use to get away from digital (i.e. cell phone timer...cell phone apps tend to distract me). My only complaint is that the last tiniest bit of sand seems to sometimes stick around the top, but can be tapped down. Our child likes to watch them just before bed. The colors are bright and fun. We bought two sets to get more times and I wish they had a 30 minute timer as well and maybe even a shallow tray to line them up in... Would totally buy these again and again!!!

My toddler likes a visual cue when transitioning from one activity to another. I purchased these in hopes that he would enjoy, and he does! They are durable, well made, and decently priced. I did not expect them to be as big as they are or as durable. I don’t have to worry about him breaking them as he sets it upside down to begin his timer. It works great and will more than likely purchase the other set of 5 and 15 minute timers.

This set of 5-minute and 15-minute timers is great. The first thing I noticed when I opened the box is how much bigger they were than I was expecting. This is a good thing because they are very sturdy so I'm not worried about them accidentally getting knocked over (like I am with my smaller sand timers). Most of the tea I drink gets steeped for 5 minutes, so I use the blue one mainly for that. The green one gets used for things like helping my 4-year-old understand how long she needs to focus on a "boring" task (like cleaning her room) before she can take a short break. She thinks these sand timers are fascinating so it's also "funner" than using a clock timer. I set them against my stopwatch to see how accurate they are - the blue/5-minute timer was about 15 seconds over, but the green/15-minute timer was only three seconds longer. They are both close enough in my book.

I teach in a self-contained special education classroom, and I use these frequently. It’s a good way for my students to keep track of how long they have to do something. It really helps my students transition more smoothly because it doesn’t feel like a shock when time is up. I got the sets with 3,5,10, and 15 minute timers. I like the size because they are not huge but are still big enough for me to see from a little ways off how much time a student has left for something. The timers are also quite durable. They still look great, and my students can be pretty hard on materials at times.

I was wary because a set of two of these were a bit cheaper than just one of the units from other vendors, they arrived quickly and seem well made. They are much bigger than the lousy sand timers included with board games. These are just over 6" tall and 3" wide. The colors are nice and they meet their accuracy goals (they are sand timers not precision stop watches) Most of these products claim + or - 10% accuracy. My 3 minute unit clocks i at 3:06 pretty good! and the 10 minute unit finishes at around 9:35 still within the 10% goal (within 9-11mins is 10%) pretty good. I wish this company made a 1 minute version. The inner sand timer is glass and the outer protective surround is a clear plastic, I recommend them...

Great tool to learn what 5 minutes feels like for a child, or for Time Out or a race... Cute and well done.

My sons behavior therapist recommended some sand timers to use as a way to help my son visual his cool down times instead of just telling him you have 5 minutes. I went with the 5 and 15 as I think with a temperamental stubborn kid, you just sometimes need more than 5 for that. My first impressions when I opened the box were WHOA these are solid big timers! My son actually saw them and immedialy seemed excited to play with them for a bit. I honestly think these would be great for classrooms due to the size or even daycares. I actually used a stopwatch to check accuracy and only had about a 3 second discrepancy (over not under) nothing big which is what I wanted to make sure of. I might consider picking up a few extras as gifts for my sons therapist or teachers. In the picture I posted a small timer I got from target compared to these.
