1920s Prohibition Era!
I devoured this second book in Beatriz Williams' prohibition series set in the 1920s! You visit Florida, NYC, Novia Scotia and more!I love Ginger and Patsy. The way Ginger thinks and talks is great! So sassy! I love all the mystery and the action of the rum runners and pirates.I am still trying to figure out the family connections. We still don't know who Ginger's actual father is and now we have the added mystery of who is Ella's real father, so I'm certainly expecting a 3rd book....I love how Beatriz Williams throws in characters from her other books. The fact that Pepper is Ella's mom is great and just adds to the fun!If you haven't read book 1, The Wicked City, you definitely want to start there. This is a great series!

Gin Kelly is Back!
The Wicked Redhead picks up right where A Wicked City left off so if you haven't read it yet, definitely read it first!Gin Kelly is back, in all her glory, it's hard not love her and her sassiness. One of my favorite things about the two Wicked books is the conversational tone of Gin's narration; it feels like she's talking right to me. Also back, is Ella Dommerich, still dealing with her cheating husband and a slightly unwelcome surprise, while also trying to move on with her life with Hector.Beatriz Williams is one of my favorite authors; I always recommend her books when someone is looking for historical fiction.

Jumbled storytelling
I love Beatriz Williams books and generally devour them within a day or two. But this series just isn’t as good as her other books. Gin’s story is sort of all over the place, kind of directionless, and Ella’s story gets to be downright obnoxious when she’s refusing to answer her phone and communicate with anyone while she runs here and there in a random series of pointless destinations and interactions. It got so tedious that by the end I was just skimming through the pages to finish it. I was shocked because I normally love her books. Still a fan - will still buy whatever she comes out with next - but I would not recommend this series in particular.

Superb trip back in time!
The characters are fascinating, the settings nostalgic, and entire book enjoyable from start to finish. Williams spins a tightly plotted tale,Winding her way through time and place. The character she creates stay in your heart. The writing is Superlative.

Fun story with well developed characters
I really enjoy reading this author's stories. This one features a feisty redhead who knows her own mind and doesn't put up with anything from the men in her life. A very good read for escapist fiction. I love how this author weaves in historical accuracy and locations I have visited with realistic details.

Wickedly great
Beatriz Williams does it again!I enjoyed every word. I felt invested in the characters and pulled for them to come out in top. I hope the story line continues and another book follows. Still so many questions!

This was tiring
I like most of her books. This is part of a series but now we wait for number three to find out who the fathers are. If she drags it out to a fourth I am through.Good writer though
