A Must-Have for Entertaining
I am absolutely delighted with the Nostalgia Frozen Drink Maker and Margarita Machine for Home. This machine has truly elevated my home entertaining game. It's not only functional but also adds a fun and festive touch to any gathering. The machine is incredibly easy to use. Simply add your ingredients, select your consistency, and let the machine do the rest. The result is perfectly blended, restaurant-quality frozen drinks every time. It's also a breeze to clean, which is a huge plus. What I love most about this machine is its versatility. It's not just for margaritas - you can make a variety of frozen drinks, from daiquiris to pina coladas, and even non-alcoholic slushies for the kids. The design is sleek and compact, fitting perfectly on my kitchen counter without taking up too much space. It's also sturdy and well-built, promising longevity. In conclusion, the Nostalgia Frozen Drink Maker and Margarita Machine for Home is a fantastic investment for anyone who enjoys entertaining or simply loves a good frozen drink. It's worth every penny and I highly recommend it!

Would not buy again
Very difficult to use. Product is easy to break if one part of the process is off. Steep learning curve with very little support as far as amounts of salt to ice ratio etc. If your liquid (juice) has too much water it will break the machine before you can blink. One brand of juice may have one flavor that works beautiful but another flavor same brand and you are doomed before you start. There is no youtube support or help...nothing in directions. You are on your own. Even the included directions are contradictory. One says use table salt another included paper says rock salt. The amount of salt is important and neither give amounts. You need to be a scientist to avoid hit or miss success. Have to wait 45 min between batches. Very expensive to be a hit or miss and the difficulty and odds of failure take all the fun out of it. Strictly seems to be a margarita machine not a slushie machine. Horrible experience.

Three things we need to get clear. If you need to know how to operate this, I have instructions. Some of the reviews are coming from people who don't understand how a slushie machines work. 1. This product works, but the instructions are terrible. Don't go by everyone's reviews saying "product doesn't work." The product does work, they just don't know how to operate this simple machine. Here's what you do. Take Kosher salt and put enough in the bottom of the metal nonstick tin to cover the bottom of the tin (about 2 Tbls). Next fill with cubed ice about halfway. Pour more salt on top of that, but about half as much you put in the bottom. Then fill to the top with ice. Turn the switch on to freeze. When you hear the machine start to sound like it's scraping, its working. As the ice starts to melt just top it off with more ice. Try not to let it get to less than 3/4 full of ice or it takes longer to get the liquid to freeze. No need to stop the machine, just put the ice cubes through the top hole when you see it less than 3/4 full. Once it starts to slushify the ice will melt slower so you won't have to top off as often. I would say I have to top it off twice before the drink is frozen. Takes about 15 minutes. Once you get your slushie to the consistency you want, flip the switch to dispense and pour your drink. Let me be clear, if you want to have more slushie later, flip it to dispense. If you let it keep running on freeze, it will keep making the slushie to freeze, making it really thick causing it to feel like a job to drink it rather than a pleasure. Long story short if you like your slushies less wet, let it run on freeze. If you like them a little more wet and easier to drink through a straw, every 10-15 minutes switch it from dispense to freeze. 2. I love this machine. Like I really love it. Not sure why everyone has had so much trouble trying to figure this out. The liquid freezes to the outside of the metal and as it turns, the plastic blades scrape off the frozen product causing it to slushify. Here's my only problem. The main gear that makes this process possible is made out of cheap plastic. If the drink gets too frozen it causes more tension on this gear. You'll hear the machine get much louder, eventually you hear it jam, and crack. The result is a useless machine. So be aware of that if you walk away from it for too long, this could be something you'll experience. I have requested a replacement machine, and I'm hoping that I have better luck with that gear. If it happens again I'll be looking for a new product with a design that promises longevity. 3. Don't buy the expensive syrups. Or any syrups for that matter. Even the Icee brand syrups arnt worth it. It's misleading. You can turn anything into a slushie. Gatorade, Coca-Cola, Cherry Coca-Cola, Root Beer, Dr Pepper, Mountain Dew. Anything that's a liquid drink, you can turn into a slushie. You can get a 2 Liter soda, or canned sodas and pour it into the pitcher part of the machine and it will slushify. It's at 1/10 of the cost of the syrups and tastes much better. Ill be honest, I bought a 4 pack for $32.00 from Icee, and it made 4 pitchers. I can buy 5 Two Liters for about $7 and get about 10-15 slushie pitchers full. Even if you have a flat soda you can still use it in the machine and it tastes the same, if not better. Awesome for the family movie nights if you follow these instructions Good Luck Everyone!!!

Definitely works well for the price!
My daughter has been asking for a slushy machine for months but initial searches I was only seeing $400+ industrial machines. For $50 I was willing to give this one a try. So far we have made slushies on 3 different occasions, first with Simply Lemonade, and twice with a mix of Florida OJ and Simply Lemonade and it definitely works! As others have said, it’s pretty loud, comparable to a budget blender (not as loud as a high speed blender). The instruction say it can take up to 15 min but following the directions with a half cup of table salt and half cup (plus some extra to dissolve all the salt) of water with crushed ice (from our fridge door), we’ve had good slush consistency within 10 min each time. For cleaning, the whole beverage part comes off of the motor base and we just rinsed it all in the sink and lay the parts on a dish towel to dry (4/5 stars for “easy to clean” because you can’t put it in the dishwasher but rinsing has been pretty easy). Overall can’t complain! I don’t think you’ll find a better deal for a basic slushie machine.

Not the worst money I’ve spent
Sometimes it works and sometimes it doesn’t. I use the exact same process and ingredients every time and it freezes 50% of the time (really strange). Also, the white lice on the inside that spins broke after three uses. It still works but it’s definitely broken. I’ll spend my money on a higher quality unit.

Great for kids!
Bought this for my other half and I think the kids have used it more!! It's very simple and easy to use, my 9 year old can do it alone. Makes a slush it just 10-15 minutes! Works quicker if the drink is already cold. No you can't use it for alcohol but you can for soda. It even manages to keep the carbonation! The only downside I'd say it that it uses a lot of ice (like 3 trays worth) and a lot of salt as well. It's also easy to clean as the entire top comes off and internal pieces come apart.

Requires some attention, but ultimately easy to use
Bought this after realizing how much I enjoyed Slurpees, pretty happy with my decision. I requires a lot of ice to run, and it sure isn't quite, but I use it in an empty office so no issues. Clean up is the only handing point, since the manual says not to use the dishwasher, but a thorough rinse after each use, with the occasional hot water and soap, and I've been fine so far. No time to waste on recipes or mixes, I just put in an energy drink (red bull), then top it off with a flavor appropriate soda (MNT Dew, Sprite, etc.). Only problem beverage I've ran into was Brisk sweetened iced tea (froze up faster than other drinks), but nothing that would damage the machine.

Complete garbage and a bunch of lies
How do you market a machine as a "drink maker", when your first warning is that "sugar-free beverages and alcoholic beverages will not freeze. DO NOT use them in this machine," and yet every single one of your beverage recipes on the very next page are all highly alcoholic beverages?!? This machine is complete garbage and a waste of money. The advertising is literally complete crap and a total lie. Amazon should stop selling this garbage.
