Great gift
This is a great gift for my husband who is a hunter. The knives are very well made and a great size for carrying with him on a hunting trip.

Size is small
I have always heard that KOA were exceptional knives in quality and durability. Love the quality especially the steel its made from. They hold their edge and are well built. The only problem I have is that they are very small knives in size. Maybe I have big hands but I cant fix that ! lol

Awesome knives
Just bought a set of these and have yet to use them. A friend of mine does have the muskrat and used it while caping out a whitetail and even with the unusual look this thing works. My experience with this company has been great these are no frills quality knives and they stand behind their products. I would recommend them to any sportsman who is looking for a good set of skinning/caping knives.

Wow was I surprised !!
After scouring the internet for caping knife recommendations I finally settled on this pair. The specifications on this set was impressive, so I was willing to pay almost double to make sure I got a quality product that was made in the USA. I do not buy import knives and always prefer to buy made in the USA products, if possible. When these arrived at the door I was excited to open the box. Unfortunately, that excitement turned to disappointment very quickly. The sheath is made of a moderate thickness leather but it is mostly held together by rivets and single stitching. The belt loop (integrated part of the leather) is leather folded over and held by 2 rivets (yep 2 rivets). If the leather weren't as thick as it was I would say this was an import piece of **** sheath that is guaranteed to fail. Condor knife sheaths are much better than these and they are imported!!The knives are made of D2 steel and appeared to be decent quality at first. Upon inspection I noticed the Muskrat handle was actually deformed where the front rivet was located, almost like the handle had been melted on both sides. The grind looked fairly straight on the Muskrat but the leading edge of the cub knife had an uneven grind. Upon further inspections the scales were fitted VERY poorly, both knives had scales that were mounted above the spine of the knife, creating sharp edges that dug into your hands. Lastly, both knives were dull ... wouldn't even cut through paper when drawing the knife in!!I desperately wanted to like Knives of Alaska and support a USA company. Unfortunately, these knives are made with less quality and fit than most china junk knives!! Admittedly, the materials used in these knives far exceeds the cheap imported wally world knives but the fit and finish will leave you feeling like they should have cost half what you paid. Save yourself some time and order from a different US manufacturer. As you can tell, I was not happy with this set and returned the knives the same day I received them.

Not impressed
I have been want to get these two knives for years now and I finally sealed the deal. I can't tell you how disappointed I am with the finish on these knives. I think my 8 yr. old daughter could grind better then who ever worked these knives. The Muskrat edge is all over the place. The Bear Cub has visible grind marks on the blade. The handles don't fit correctly and the main thing, THESE KNIVES ARE DULL. These Knives are a disgrace to the title Made in the USA. Maybe Amazon sold me some scrap knives that should have been thrown in the scrape pile, I don't know, but, they can have them back. If you buy these, make sure you can visually inspect the knives for a good finish. Don't make the same mistake I did and buy on-line to save a buck.
