Berryman (2610-6PK) B-12 Chemtool Total Combustion Cleaning Kit - 16 oz., (Pack of 6)

Great product in a reasonably priced kit. I researched carefully before choosing a cleaner. My engine has a nylon (plastic) intake manifold, and some products will harm the engine components. Berryman is safe for plastics and other engine materials and therefore it passes the first requirement...it doesn't harm your engine. The kit is very easy to use and it does a good job mixing the chemical and air to allow the engine to pull this in as a mist of chemical to all cylinders. Follow the directions and don't block off the y connector in the line. I suggest pulling the tube out of the can every few seconds to keep your engine running if it starts to loose rpm. Remember to move it to the other side of the engine if you have a 6 or 8 cylinder (especially if you have more than one PCV valve). The smell is not too strong and it produces minimal smoke from the tailpipe during use. I let my engine run at idle, but you could increase the rpms if you feel you need more vacuum to pull in the chemical. The entire job should take less than 10min and could take 5min if you were in a hurry for some reason. I can't comment on the emissions change, but the car seemed to run more smoothly and have more power after use. Following the cleaning I took the car out and drove it with wide open throttle. It definitely released some dark smoke the first few seconds, and I have noticed better acceleration and smoother idle still after several days. I recommend this product for older of higher mile cars, and can believe that it might be of use annually. I don't think there would be any benefit to running more frequently unless you have engine issues like gasket leaks, valve problems, etc. that create a dirty intake system. In short, this product does not harm your engine and can help clean the intake and combustion system. It may or may not help with passing an emissions test, but there is little cost and risk in giving it a try. Enjoy.

I've never seen a simple chemical additive/treatment deliver as much immediate & noticeable improvements as this product! This actually does what most magical additives out there SAY they fix! Make sure you have a way to reset your ECU (/clear codes) after using this as you're likely to trigger many check-engine codes due to how it works. I used this on my older e320 Mercedes with ~175k miles on it by unplugging the vacuum line going to the PCV valve (the engine side of vacuum line, not the PVC side) and plugged the multi stepped adapter in this kit straight into the engine located at the middle+rear. Idle was rough and almost stalled until it compensated for the change in vacuum. Make sure to rev it periodically during the process, I did not the very first time I used it and had a scare. Once the can was empty, I put all vacuum lines back, and drove it down the street, did a u-turn and was baffled by the sudden fog that suddenly set in (lol). I quickly and obviously realized it wasnt fog, but massive clouds of smoke I left all the way from my driveway several blocks away. After pulling into my driveway, I noticed it was running horribly and barely could keep idling. I promptly shut her down, did a quick inspection & then fired her back up, revved it a bunch, then plugged in my OBD scanner to see what was up. It had many simultaneous & random misfiring in all cylinders, which i think would be expected after such a treatment, so I cleared all the codes. Once I restarted her up, I was immediately relieved to notice a smooooooth idle, improved engine response, dramatically improved exhaust note(sounds like a proper merc now), and no more smoke. Those were the immediate highlights, but after daily driving I've also had a 10mpg INCREASE in efficiency, dramatically faster acceleration, throttle response, and more!!!!

I used this on a 1995 Ford F-150 with 72k miles on it. Truck was rough at idle, sluggish and slow on acceleration, and rough starting. I went in through the line that went to the power break system. Disconnected it, started the engine, and hooked it up. it did die once about 3/4 through the bottle and I had to rev the engine slightly. Tons of smoke came out of exhaust and it rumbled a lot. Right afterwards I took it for a drive. Wow what a difference! Its easy to start now, and has tons more power. Except for one time at idle it was really smooth, and that time was from more burning off I think. The engine is so smooth I cant feel that the engine is on when at idle because there is almost no noise, and no vibrations in the steering wheel or touching the dash. Sound is a soft deeper sound now, not the higher rumbling noise it used to be. One thing I don't understand, for some reason the transmission is now running smoother. It was a big rough at 50 mph to 60,, now I cant even feel the transmission engaging at all, and have to listen for the slight change instead. Not sure why it helped it, maybe the more power helps it engage better? I was a bit scared about trying it, but I'm glad I did! I've tried in the tank cleaners of other brands but they didn't work. I added the berryman brand in the tank cleaner to help the system more after, but I dont know if it was needed, as the problems where already fixed.

I purchased this for use on my 2007 Subaru WRX STi with 65k miles on the odometer. The car is still using the stock turbo and intercooler but is highly modified otherwise and tuned to run on either pump premium or E85. I'm fairly well versed with products like this which are intended to be ingested through the intake system while the car is idling. The can does state the product is not for turbo cars, however I chose a vacuum port which is AFTER my turbocharger (bypass valve vacuum port) without any ill effect. This stuff works great and is super easy to administer solo, given the provided adapter hoses, and aeration tubing. In contrast to seafoam, my car threw a bunch of check engine misfire codes during the Berryman treatment, smoked like crazy, and runs super smooth afterwards. I was getting some bucking/hesitation on/off throttle when getting into boost while driving my car which has since resolved. Even when the car isn't smoking, you can definitely catch a whiff of what smells like carbon burning off, with a slightly chemical scent as well. This is another contrast to seafoam I have noticed. I also did this treatment to my girlfriend's 2003 Jeep LIberty V6 sport, with great results! A good follow up is to use some distilled or filtered water in much the same way in order to let atomized water steam off the intake ports/valves and further remove any carbon, blow-by or varnish build up! The aeration hose helps in this regard by not allowing water alone to be sucked into the engine, which may create a potential hydrolock hazard. I would highly recommend this treatment! It's tough to find on the shelves at local auto parts stores. Don't be intimidated by the process, just give it a go! I pamper my car and this is definitely now part of the 'regimen'. ;)

No more Ping n Rattle on my F150... Fixed :) My truck had this nasty pinging and detonation and after furthur t/s i found out the IMRC valve had lost or drop one of the rods at passenger side cyl head, reconnected IMRC valve rod and no more pinging or detonation or rattling. I still continue to run this into intake manifold since spark plugs on driver side cyl head were super carbon build-up, the clean up was almost instant since white smoke came out of tail pipe after running engine. This product does work on removing carbon buildup. Will continue to use in the future. Great product. Truck runs smooth and strong and the best part. NO MORE PING OR RATTLE

The kit is very good. Well made with high quality products. The chemical sold with it!? I don't know... Well, maybe it is only my car. I tried this Chemtool on a 2011 Sonata. The car has over 80k miles. The instructions don't specify if you have to apply the treatment on cold or warm engine. It would be obvious that the engine should be at working temperature. I induced it through the PCV line as it is the line that mostly get the oil vapor. Everything went fine. No major misfiring or so. The whole process took about 10 min or so. Running on Idle. After running the whole bottle, and put everything back, I took the car into a short drive. There was absolutely no smoke. Nothing at all. During the process, there was a slight smoke coming from the exhaust but nothing after. Driving after the process is the same as before. I don't notice any change. At all! The only thing I had was 3 pending CODES for missfire on cylinders: 4, 3 and 2. The code erased itself after about 15 miles drive. This could mean that the Hyundai Kia GDI has no deposit on the intake valves issues? The engine is very clean? Any ways, I like the idea of the kit. It is very save.

Worked like a charm and worth every penny. I had a P0402 error and it failed emissions test. I ran the Berryman through the brake booster vacuum hose as stated in the instruction. Ran the 2002 Nissan Frontier through its drive cycle a few times. The check engine light went off. I followed it up with my OBD-II scanner and the EGR status came back as completed. My son took the truck to emissions testing and it passed. Prior to using Berryman I've used Liqui Moly Fuel System Cleaner, Chevron fuel injector cleaner, Chervron fuel system cleaner, and 3M System Intake Cleaner all in the past three months without success. Maybe, just maybe they all contributed to cleaning the carbon buildup, but I think the Berryman really did the trick. The truck runs so smoothly, idles well, and the acceleration is quicker with no sluggish feel.

This particular product from Berryman works very well, as intended. After already having successfully tested the Seafoam SS14 cleaner through my intake, I tried this a few weeks later and did a similar before & after inspection of my combustion chamber, which proved strong results in removing carbon buildup. I generally find B12 products to be excellent for various applications (i.e. soaking removed injectors we didn't have time to have properly rebuilt after fuel had been contaminated) and can definitely recommend this as well for cleaning the intake & combustion chambers of carbon buildup. For someone looking to clean his or her fuel system however, I can't really recommend products such as the Seafoam or B12 to be filled into the tank. You will likely loosen dirt and only plug up the really fine mesh filters on your injectors - in case you have a vehicle with fuel injection. Rather change the filter and service the injectors properly.
