Hill's Prescription Diet c/d Multicare Urinary Care Dry Cat Food

I have two male cats who have both suffered from urinary issues and urinary blockages. Both have been hospitalized overnight, and the vet bills totaled thousands of dollars. Since switching to this food, it has become an essential part of keeping them healthy. They simply can’t go without it. While it’s more expensive than regular cat food, it’s far less costly than repeated emergency vet visits. If your veterinarian recommends this diet, I highly recommend sticking with it. It has made a huge difference for both of my cats and has given me peace of mind.

My cat has been on this food for 4+ years. Every since he almost lost his life because of crystal formations in his urine that lodged in his urethra causing his bladder to become so large that it pushed into his kidneys and stopped his kidneys from functioning. The vet did not expect him to survive but my cat used one of his nine lives and made it anyway with his kidneys restarting their function. To be fair he probably used several of his nine lives on that one. For those who are used to buying this food this review means nothing. I'm solely writing this for those who are new to having to use this food to give them some reassurance. This food really works! It doesn't even cause foul smelling poop. My cat has been eating this for the 4 years since his first problem and he's never had a reoccurrence, which is a minor miracle (a large miracle to me). I was told that he would have times where he would have a irritable bladder because of the crystals, for the rest of his life. I was preparing for it. After the first 2 years he hasn't had any more of those either, so this food does what it's supposed to and it reduces the crystal formation. If your vet is prescribing this food, it's because there's no other choice however this stuff really does work. At least it worked for mine, which means it could work for yours. I use the prescription canned food for medicine. For this dry food, I add water to soften it and get more water in his system but also to fill him up faster since he needed to lose weight. I know not every cat will allow that. If you don't have one I also highly recommend a pet fountain. I'm not saying that this food will get rid of the crystals, but it has significantly reduced them and in 4 years, I have never not been thankful for this food despite the high price. My cat eats it without a problem and doesn't have a problem with the taste. I always buy chicken because I don't like a fishy smell but I can't say that the dry food has a fishy smell, I just didn't want to risk it. He's never had a problem with digestion, he likes the taste, use your vets guide for how much to feed them. More importantly than anything, this stuff has worked for me and kept my cat alive for more than 4 years after his issues. Have hope! As for ordering it off of Amazon, that part is new for me. My vet used to carry it and they stopped so now I have a prescription from my vet to get it off of Amazon. It's usually here within 2 days and I live in a rural area so it gets here pretty quickly. They seem to review the prescription every time you order it, but although this was my second time ordering it it still got here within 2 days. I highly recommend getting a written prescription, so you can upload it. That way they're not having to constantly call the vet to reaffirm that you're allowed to get it and it would save time. This past order I even got 30% off since I finally put it on subscribe and save and it was a special subscribe and save savings. Have hope, this food has done wonders for my cat.

Ordered this via request from our vet after our cat suddenly had bladder stones and could not pee. He spent 3 days in the ER at the vet on fluids, antibiotics and then we started him on this food. So far so good. Seems to have been helping to reduce the stone development. So I gave it 5 stars because it basically saved us thousands of dollars for surgery to remove the stones. Our cat is 8 years old, slightly over weight. He is a pretty picky eater, and seems to like this just fine. It is a bit pricey, but it seems to work. Fingers crossed it keeps working!

This food helped my male kitty stop peeing on laundry and soft stuff. It dissolved the crystals right away! He is so happy now and so are we!

Vet recommended this after first urinary blockage. I tried some of the cheaper competitor’s brands, few of which my picky cat would even touch but the second blockage made it abundantly clear.. my cat requires a HIGH QUALITY rx diet to live. First off my extremely picky cat HAPPILY took right to this with no complaints at all. Pieces are small and oval shaped. Finally and most importantly, I’ve already seen the positive effects of hill’s c/d in my cat. Just prior to starting this diet he had been completely blocked for almost two days and by some miracle he was able to dislodge some of the blockage through straining. After many fruitless urination attempts there was a hard short spray resembling a pressure washer and afterwards more disappointing straining and small amounts of urine. He’s been on this diet for only about three weeks and he’s completely back to normal and with NO VET BILLS! I firmly believe in this products claim to dissolve bladder crystals because I have first-hand witnessed it’s positive effects!

The only reason why it’s not 5 stars is the cost. My cats like this food and is good on sensitive tummies. I like the option of having a subscription so I don’t have to worry of running out.

This saved our baby!! Broke up his stones after being flushed. Don’t let anyone tell you this doesn’t work because it does!! Don’t put your baby in danger because of some strangers opinion on the internet. If this wasn’t available we wouldn’t have our baby!! Get it and use it according to the vet’s instructions. Our baby is healthy now with no more issues.

Have been using this food for years for my extremely sensitive 9 year old male cat. The size of the kibble fits in automatic feeders and both of my cats love it (and my other doesn't even need it!). It effectively clears blockages and keeps them away, dissolving crystal build-up vigilantly.

Os gatos gostaram desta ração. Ainda não dá pra medir o impacto no tratamento urinário porque ainda não fizemos o exame de urina, mas eles se adaptaram bem.

Excelente alimento, lo compre ya que a mi gatita le detectaron calculos en los riñones y fue lo que el veterinario nos recomendo, al principio no le gustaba pero ahora ya lo pide, tengo dos gatitas mas que al momento no tienen problemas pero de igual forma se los abasteo para tratar de evitar problemas a futuro, leo que hay gente que dejo de darle el alimento porque no les gusto, solo como consejo: insistan en darles este alimento y en algun momento les juro que les va a encantar, ademas es saludable para sus gatitos.
