These pills are large! That aside, they work great. My sister and mom said they help their knee pain. I thought I’d give it a try and I have to agree. It’s a great supplement to add in the mix.

The capsules are large but will go down. Sometimes I get fish after taste.

I've so far have used the Nature's Bounty Omega 3-6-9 Fish Flax Borage softgel for about two months. I had been taking only fish oil (1000 - 1200 mg daily) for the past couple of years, and I did notice an improvement in my cholesterol. I am also on a statin though, so whether the fish oil contributed to the improvement, I can't be sure. A friend of mine said that she uses the flax seed oil instead of fish oil. So, I thought I would try this product with both. The recommended dose is three softgels daily. This comes to 3600 mg of the "Triple Omega 3, 6, 9 Proprietary Blend. It doesn't say whether they can be taken all at the same time, but I only take one of these or the fish oil a day. I am already taking three prescription drugs (including the statin), one of which is twice a day. Taking my pills more than once a day is a real burden for me, so I set them up in weekly AM /PM pill packs two or three weeks at a time. I honestly don't think I could fit three of these, or of the fish oil in my pill pack because I also take a very large multi-vitamin. I feel that I have taken this product long enough to determine whether there is any added benefit of a combination softgel rather than fish oil alone. I will soon be having my annual cholesterol screening, and will see if I continue to have the high HDL, and low LDL and total cholesterol. Even though I am taking only a third of the recommended dose each day, if my numbers have gotten worse, then I may go back to only the 1000 mg per day (one softgel) of fish oil with my statin. I just can't see taking three of these each day.UPDATE AFTER LAB WORK DONE Sept 18, 2014: My HDL Cholesterol was 65. Anything over 59 is considered Optimal. MY LDL Cholesterol was 106.6. Even though under 100 is considered Optimal and, 100 - 129 was near Optimal, I was flagged here as "out of range". This doesn't concern me what so ever because my Cholesterol, Serum was 199, with < 200 being desirable, and my Cholesterol / HDL RATIO was 3.1, with Optimal being < 3.5. So overall, I would say that the product, along with my prescription statin did its job.
