Known to his family as Christopher Wallace, to his friends as Biggie, andto his fans around the world as a legend, there can be no doubt that this Brooklyn rapper changed music forever. And now the epic tale of this one of a kind MC comes to the big screen. The Notorious Soundtrack, the companion piece to the highly anticipated motion picture, tells the story of the late, great B.I.G. the way he would- through rhymes and beats.Filled with timeless classics like 'Juicy' and 'Hypnotize' plus new songs bysome of hip hop's biggest names AND never-before-released demos from the rapper's earliest days, this is a collection no hip hop fan should be without. Review: I enjoy Biggie little and now I can listen to it anytime - I enjoyed Notorious BIG he is gone too soon and I enjoy his music at least now I can listen to it anytime. Review: A must-have for any B.I.G. fan - When it comes to soundtracks, it's rare to find one that features all the songs that plays in the motion picture. In this case, it's the opposite: you find every single track that you can hear in the movie, and also some brand new tracks. The "D" side features a duet, made through electronic means, between The Notorious B.I.G. and his son, Christopher Wallace Jr., that plays his father in the beginning of this excelent biopic. And you can never get tired of hits such as "Hypnotize" and "Notorious". Definitely, this vinyl represent "BK" to the fullest.

Ah, the movie soundtrack. Inevitably a cash-in but just occasionally magnificent, they are far from a noble genre. So you wouldn't expect the official soundtrack to a mediocre film (about possibly the greatest ever rapper)to be worth more than a glance. You'd be wrong. One of the big problems with being a completist when you're a fan of a rapper is that so many of them feature on other people's records, release standalone 12" singles and put out mixtapes that if you're a latecomer, sometimes these are impossible to find. And it's for this reason that far from just being a movie soundtrack, Notorious is a worthy addition to your CD collection. As well as housing a good number of Biggie's greatest songs, it also features a number of rarer recordings. The three demos closing out the compilation are listenable, but not essential (although they show how fully formed Biggie's skill was so early on). However, the inclusion of the magnificent early single 'Party and Bulls**t', as well as the Stay With Me remix of 'One More Chance,' mean this compilation is for more than just the completists and fans for the movie.
