Size fits 2lbs of coffee beans perfectly, which is what was needed. It's large-ish but the black canister sets back on my counter nicely along with other coffee items. The lid closes tightly. It's lightweight but seems sturdy. (I wouldn't toss it around.) It should keep the coffee fresh over the couple of months it takes 2 people to go through 2lbs of coffee. The scoop is convenient, and I like the window version to see the coffee beans.

KUDOS to the company!! These are sooo solidly made! And they are as practical as they are beautiful—can even put them on the counter. I really did my research and could not find anything better. They really lock up to keep things fresh and when comparing the thickness of the lock with others at the store, these beat them hands down. Easy to open and close too. The medium one has a window which tells you at a glance what is inside, but for things like flour, rice, sugar you need the larger piece. The detail of a 1/8 stainless measuring cup on the outside of each canister is genius! Timesaver—it’s right there when you need it. If you have little ones or teenagers and are trying to get away from plastic, there’s nothing like stainless steel. Wash them by hand so as not to damage the date mechanism on the lid. I covered the lid with a Glad sandwich bag and was very careful that no water leaked inside. When you receive them, scrub the inside and the little cup WELL with a sponge. Make a paste of baking soda and a few drops of water, rinse and dry them well. Voilá! You only have to do this once. Very happy with this purchase. They will last forever.

It does this job very well, but there's nothing revolutionary here that would make me jump up and down with excitement.
