For model with cooling fan, is operation temperature controlled? Does it turn on/off or change speed based on temperature or is it a fixed-speed fan?

All 3 answers are wrong. Maybe Ahkenatonia's fan was busted. This is the behavior. It is always just 1 speed. Whether the drive is at room temperature, or showing 65 Celsius thru SMART querying software. JUST 1 SPEED. The fan is off until it detects a USB connection and also keeps power to the drive off until it detects a USB connection. The fan reduces temps by a few degrees, nothing drastic. It is quiet and low RPM.

What is the power suppy input ? does it support 110-240 V?

The power supply input is 100-240 volts AC, output is 12 volts DC (2000 mA).

If I velcroed this to the bottom of my desk upside down (because of the button) would it be secure? In other words if its upside down willit open

The dock will open unless you fasten the hinged part, too. Even then, I wouldn't recommend hanging it upside down. There hard drive is not secured into the plastic.

Since the version of this w/o the cooling fan states that it is compatible with windows 10 and this one does not state that my question is : Is it?

100% compatible with Windows 10. I have already used it to format drives, create and store back ups.
