Q: What is the case back made of, and is there an option to have it without anodizing?

The case is made of Titanium and they are all anodized.

Q: Are the keys the same "slanted" shape as the original? That was one of my favorite things about it.

They are almost the same shape. The top surface has the same tilt. however, the part of the key with the 2nd function label in blue on original has it's own more deeply angled surface. the top of keys on the DM15L is flat and has the blue labe on top.

Q: So if this swiss made calculator is an much improved version of the 15c why does it have a usb port and what's it used for?

Back in the day of the 15C the device programming was physically built into the circuit board. The processor was electronically "engraved" with the operating instructions. Modern chips are a blank slate. You build the device then load the programming into the chip. That chip can do many things, not just be a calculator. The port is there for use at the factory. That's where they load the operating instructions (firmware) into the device so the chip inside knows that it is now a calculator and how to go about doing that job. The port has no end user purpose.

Sorry, I don't know the HP-32sII well enough. The HP-15C / DM15L can store values in many registers, but not in keys. I hope this answers your question. Otherwise please rephrase.

Perfect Clone or Alternative

Runs the actual HP-15C in emulation mode so the results are identical, USB save/load Calculator state and develop programs offline as well as having 4 X the memory (with the M1B firmware). Actually for the size likely the most powerful calculator you can buy for Maths (better than the original due to better memory and LCD and USB).Also likely 30-40X faster.... useful if you are using SOLVE or programming.Extremely well made. Feels rock solid., the LCD (and changeable fonts) far clearer than the original model.I sold my HP-15C and use this exclusively - simply is better than the original in my opinion although I know many will disagree. I also own the DM-16L and my review is similar.
