I don't wear wigs, so I can't say how well this works for that purpose. But I do like to wear headbands around the house to keep my hair out of my face. I find that the plastic ones hurt my head, so I tend to like the fabric ones better. But apparently I have an unusually large head, so fabric ones always slip off. I've tried so many brands - even ones like Junk, Scunci, and others that are supposedly made for large heads - but within 15 minutes of putting it on, it gradually slides off my head so that it looks like I'm wearing a fabric crown. Not the look or functionality I was looking for, so my search continued...until I found this! I don't know whether it's the adjustable band on the bottom or the material it's made out of, but IT STAYS IN PLACE, even - by some miracle - while I'm sleeping! At times, out of habit, I go to readjust it from slipping off to be pleasantly surprised that it's still right where it should be. It's also super soft and comfortable so I can barely feel that it's on. I've washed it multiple times in a mesh garment bag on the permanent press setting of my washer, and it comes out like new again (no shrinking, stretching, or deformation). I've finally found a headband that works for my big head!

I have previously tried 2 different wig grips from another company before trying this one, and I must say that I really love this Madison wig grip over the other 2. I love how it is tapered to fit more comfortably over the ears, does not have a lot of bulk in back where it fastens, and does not velcro as a fastener. The other 2 different grips from another company that I have tried secure my wig in place just as well as the Madison, but they are barely tapered if at all, which feels bulky and awkward in the back when moving/tilting my head up, and I can't keep them situated to where they won't keep bunching/folding in that crease between my ears and head, and they use velcro as a fastener in the back, which annoyingly grab onto my bio hair something awful. Happily, the Madison grip is not bulky in the back, does not bunch in that crease at my ears, and doesn't fasten with velcro. And it happened to have came to me perfectly adjusted, too. I did not need to adjust the strap in back at all. It secures my wig and is very comfortable. I'm very happy with my purchase.

This stays in place and is great quality. It keeps my wig secure while still being thin enough that I don’t feel it. The only downside is that I wish it was tighter

This wig grip is comfortable and I like that it tapers, so it doesnt bother my ears. I also like the elastic in the bag and overall it feels like good quality. I am taking off a couple stars though because I find it keeps slipping backwards.

This is the first headband that does not slide off my head. It's so comfortable and AMAZING that I slept the whole night with it on and in the morning, it had not moved!

Too tight/not super adjustable. I don’t have an unusually sized head and have never had a slipping issue with my Velcro-based grips. But this one came off my head in the first hour or two of wear, which was a shock, and I had to readjust my headscarf multiple times when out for the day because this kept slipping backwards. Maybe if you’ve got a very tiny head this would work, but I also felt like the velvet itself wasn’t super grippy. Overall I wanted to love this non-Velcro option, but I just can’t recommend this, especially for this price; I’d rather brave my neck hairs getting broken in Velcro than have to retie my headcovering several times in an afternoon because this keeps coming off my head and won’t attach to the fabric anyway.

I have a high hairline that causes difficulty when wearing bandanas or cloth headbands. I love wearing them but am constantly having to adjust or fidget with them. Today I wore this amazing product and marveled at how I did not need to adjust it even once. I am so used to messing with my head covering every hour if not sooner that I could not help but be thankful every time I noticed and did not need to adjust. Im so used to things slipping off my head that I could not help but marvel at it every time. I waited till the end of the day to say something because I thought for sure, after a whole day of running around, doing things, bending down and moving around I would need to adjust it. Nope. Not once did I need to touch it. It stayed in place so perfectly I needed to share. This wonderful product is made from velvet (brilliant really) and is put together in such a way that it grips what its holding on to...if you wear it properly. There are clear instructions on how to wear it properly so if you're having difficulty I suggest following instructions. Also, the other cool part is the band is stretchy and adjustable. I have a smaller size head and it fits beautifully. I hope this helps any who may be contemplating this purchase.

Does not match the picture. They are just normal black headbands. Maybe a tiny bit grippy. Can’t see them working for anything heavier than a light scarf. And it’s a pack of 2, not the 1 in the listing.

I did not buy this item as a wig grip or headband to hold hair back. It was my idea of finding a way to stop a pair of large headphones of mine from slipping off my head when turning or looking down. Apparently my head is on the skinnier side and these weighty high end headphones just don’t have enough clamp-force for me. Using this headband I was able to steady them from sliding off easily but long term it’s not the most comfortable or convenient option. Was simple to use and would likely work perfectly for the intended use though.

I have bio hair and this wig grip slides over my bio hair so it was no good for me. I had to buy a more expensive brand that has silicone so it doesn’t slide over my hair.
