Unbelievable Replay Value!
My family found my original Diablo II CDs from 2000 in a box in a storage locker they were cleaning out. I installed, patched and played a little and then remembered how this expansion pack added so much to the game. I ordered it, installed it, went to blizzard site for the latest patch (1.14d) and it plays flawlessly on my Windows 7 system.I have not played anything in my Steam library in a month! Any game time is devoted to playing this fantastic game and its addictive random loot drop system! When I get tired of it, Ill put it somewhere and set a reminder to pull it out again in 2038 for another round!

A perfected roguelike/action-rpg hybrid.
Note that you can actually buy this online, however, it's actually cheaper to track down copies online (provided the keys included have not been used), register it online on Blizzard's website with your Blizzard account, and get it that way. The risk is that if the game is used, the key has already probably been used. So make sure to buy the game new, not used (a used game with a key that has already been activated would be basically worthless).Chances are though if you're reading this, you are already familiar with the historical importance of this game, so you don't really need convincing, but here goes: In videogame history, the Diablo series originally basically took the then-obscure genre of roguelike, and made it mainstream by combining it with higher production values, an overarching story, and action-RPG mechanics. But the heart of this game isn't action, it's random dungeon generation, random item generation, etc., so that the game is unique each time you play. Diablo 1 was a great first attempt at that combination, but it was still only basically a first attempt, and rough in many areas. Diablo 2 perfected it. Then, much later, Diablo 3 attempted to cash in on that perfection (with mixed results). So basically Diablo 2 is the one you want to play if you only play one of the three (though you aren't of course limited). This product of course is not Diablo 2, but it's an expansion (pretty much a necessary one) if you already own Diablo 2. Much like the expansion of Starcraft (Brood War), these early Blizzard expansions were basically the second half of the game, and necessary for the full experience (unlike modern DLCs which add skins or whatever). So you'd need both a key for Diablo 2 and a key for this to play it. Still, as I said it's often cheaper here than getting it on Blizzard's site (where it's often 10 dollars each).I mainly played the game single player, but many people would have more fun with multiplayer; which I did try out a bit, and if it is fun there is still a community for it even in 2017. But even just single player is wonderful.

MUST HAVE for any Diablo II fan!
The expansion set for Diablo II is incredible! You've seen all the features I'm sure from above, so I'll save you a recap except to say that the graphics are much better due to higher resolution and on top of that the Automap can now be shrunk and moved to the corner of the screen, yay! So in addition to mentioning the exciting brand new ACT V and the two new character classes, I'd say this expansion set is a MUST HAVE for Diablo II. In fact, if you haven't yet played Diablo II, I'd say, start out with the expanded edition (remember, you still have to buy the original Diablo II), and if you're playing the original version, UPGRADE! You won't regret it. I can't wait till Diablo III comes out! Until then, you'll find me playing and replaying this incredible game!Nick

Great game, not a one nighter.
The expansion pack adds a lot to the game, including many new weapons, an entire new land, and two more characters to choose from. The new land is great, but I must say that the two new characters are not that good, and if your only buying this game for the new characters, don't bother. The assassin is is a verrrry big disapointment, but the druid is pretty cool. One of the reasons that I loved he first one is another reason why I love the expansion. It isnt a game you complete in one night, and after having it for months, i still havent completed it, but I don't really play every day. And the addition of the fifth level only adds to it, making only more likeable. Another great improvement is the expansion of your stash, allowing you to store more items.Overall, this game is a fun RPG and will keep you entertained and surprise you for months.

Better than D3 in a lot of ways
-No RMAH. Drop rates are still really low but WSK/Andy/etc. runs still give good gear if you have decent MF. No spending even more money on gear so you don't get destroyed in Inferno.-Can actually choose where your stat points are allocated. Makes characters more customizable and weird builds possible (Daggerzon, Hammerdin, etc.)-Don't have to be online for single player. You don't even have to deal with Battle.net nonsense if you don't want to (TC/IP network game)-Can have as many characters online/offline as you want.-Lacks other various features of WoW. Diablo games were never supposed to be MMOs.Devs used to get rich off making great games and having lots of people play them, not designing the game around spending actual $ on gear or wasting hours at a time grinding for gold. If you never played this, do so immediately.

Be Wary! This is an old version.
Warning!!! This is version 1.07. If you have installed a newer version of Diablo 2 (with a 26 character key) this will not see it and will NOT install ! There is a work-around, but it is a bit annoying. You have to sign on to Battle.net (you can sign up for a free account) then register the code key from your expansion kit. Once you have done that, you can download the updated Expansion (509MB) with a new key to go with it.
