This case from Amazon will prevent dust from settling on the details of your model as well as dulling its body color. The case cost good money so take care of it. Don't use Windex products to clean the case because Windex contains ammonia. Don't use paper towels which contain metal to wipe the case because scratches will occur. Plastic cases like this should be washed frequently with dishwasher soap and water and dried with an "old" t-shirt that has the nap worn off. When removing the model to clean the case, protect the model and avoid leaving unsightly, greasy fingerprints on the finish by wearing modeler's cotton gloves. Although Amazon's description of the case did not say so, the base is already dimpled for mounting holes. Another reviewer said wire ties were included in the description of this case but I could not find wire ties mentioned anywhere on the product page nor were any wires included with my case. The box that contains the display case has an illustration of a mounting diagram for a model printed on it and suggests using "standard wire," by which I believe they mean just plain metal wire. Instead, I used wire that has a plastic coating over it. This wire will not cur into the model's plastic axles, or the holes you make in the base of the case when you mount the car on the base. However, since this wire is thicker, you will have to enlarge the dimpling marks on the base of the case to accept the wire. Then cut each mounting wire longer than you need to start (it can always be cut shorter) and follow the mounting instructions written on the box. I do not know why "Michelle," a reviewer of this case, complained it "was 5" long and super small," and why reviewer "ten12times2" complained about the case being "thin and flimsy." The plastic top on my case measures 13" L x 6" W x 4-5/16" H and neither the top nor base of the case is thin or flimsy. I was able to place Yat Ming's 1:18 scale 1923 T-Bucket Roadster model that measures 8" L x 4 ½" W x 3 ½" H into the case with the model's folding windshield completely raised and still have room to spare. The Collectors Show Case Plastic Display Case for 1:18 scale die cast car models - 2380 from Amazon is an excellent bargain for 1:18 scale models. I plan to buy more.

Excellent quality. Great product. The finish is worthy of the fine cars that go inside it. Ordered 4 of these and did not have any issues with any of them (I've heard some people received cloudy looking plastic; mine are super clear). I give it a 4 not a 5 because I would have liked something on the base to secure the car so it doesn't move around. However, if you intend to just leave it in one spot as an exhibit (like I intend to do), this is great. Also, stacking them on each other locks neatly. Highly recommend this.

I really like these kind of cases for 2 reasons. 1st, you can stack them up on top of each other & it makes it nice to save spaces & cleaner. The 2nd thing is that I can tie down the car & it won't go anywhere. So that's why I love about these products. Now people are stating that there's scratches & etc on the case. I haven't had any problems with that on these cases especially when it arrives to my house. These are well package, great quality products that I would highly recommend.

The sides are a little cloudy, not a clear plastic. The top of the case is clear though, but who really looks at a model cars top

My 13-year-old son is interested in WWII, and recently bought German binoculars from WWII, and a bullet manufactured in 1942 at a local antique store. Looking for a display case with certain measurements to keep the items dust-free, and displayed on a shelf, I came across this one. Works out perfectly with room to curl the leather strap around one side with the bullet and it's case standing upright next to it (guess you have to be a guy to think certain things are cool!) This Mom is happy the items are contained, and not just laying around somewhere, and my son immediately found space on a shelf with his Forces of Valor military vehicles. Looks good! Item comes bubble wrapped inside the box from the manufacturer, and the box came with some other items ordered from Amazon with paper packing inside box. No breakage issues, and delivered within the time frame stated.

BEWARE! 5 inch high dimension is an overall height, which includes the 3/4 inch high base! The finish of the clear part is also poor, having a big knot of plastic (not clear) which completely ruins the view from the top. I bought this to house a newly completed 1/35 scale tank I built, based on the 5" height, and am unable to use it for this purpose. Maybe if you build cars (or whatever) no higher than 4.75" and don't care about quality, it may be right for you. Even were it to have fit my tank, the quality of the cover makes this a cheap, but lousy, choice. Completely dissatisfied.

For a display case at this price, i was really expecting something much better than this. The whole thing is made out of thin plastic. the "transparent" cover is not completely limpid.

It would be nice if the surface of the interior base of the box was not so slippery. I had to put "sticky dots" on the bottom of the item I wanted to display, otherwise it slides around if the box is moved to be dusted etc. The item is breakable. It is also a little bigger than I needed, but it works, others were too small. It definitely solves the problem of displaying the item and keeping it dust-free.
