Headgear with Arms for DreamWear Under-the-Nose Nasal and Pillows Masks

Update: 8/5/25: The straps on the piece have stretched out, so I'm ordering a new one. It lasted 5 years, though. Not bad. Update: 2/19/24: I am still using this actual product and it's still going strong. I do wash it in the morning on occasion, and it is dry by bedtime. I also put it in the SoClean Ozone Cleaner a few times a week - highly recommend that product if you have the space, but I digress. Just came back on here to say that it is rare that a product lasts this long nowadays, but this one has. ------------------------------- I am a new CPAP/APAP user and after much research, settled on the Dreamwear line because it is so inobtrusive. I had tried several masks, one being Wisp, and felt that I was suffocating. While it fits my husband well, my lips are full and get in the way of the nose piece. Also, I felt a bit like an elephant. :D The Dreamware mask has been fantastic. You can wear it with glasses, should you need to have a quick look at the clock or what have you. It slips right on and the hose is at the top, so you don’t see it, don't feel like an elephant and doesn’t get in the way. The only issue was that the mask was coming loose while I slept due to the headgear strap slipping up and forward. It would slip slide over my hair and fall off, waking me. This item (number 1116751. DreamWear Headgear with Arms) simply solves that problem. No more slipping. I have been tracking the numbers on the DreamStation and it is 100%, consistently. The headgear fits the cushion, which I use; the pillows, AND the full face mask, and the strap fits the back of the headgear no matter which you use. Some had said the clips grab hair as they clip it on... I'd advise to either put the hair up and out of the way, or use the velcro portion to adjust. This isn't a problem for me, as I put my hair on top of my head and then put the headgear in place and move the piece that goes in the back underneath my hair. This should be the headgear strap for Philips Respironics DreamWare, IMO. Very happy.

The Dreamwear frame/cushions aren't perfect, but very well designed IMO. The headgear.... not so much. I've wrestled every night trying to get the elastic in just the right place, and have had to make corrections at least once every night. This is while feeling the elastic press into my skull - I'm fairly sure it has literally reshaped my cranium. This "cantilevered sub-frame" design is instantly noticeable as being much more comfortable, requiring much less skull pressure, and the engineering on it makes it fall on the back of my head in just the right spot. The elastic band on the back doesn't look like much; imo at first glance it looks "wrong". But it's not. This is, without a doubt, the most ergonomic way of securing a Dreamwear frame to your face. MUCH more comfortable, the same fit every night, and I believe it's delivering a more consistent AHI in the morning as well as much less sleep disturbances due to being uncomfortable/mask wandering around.

Made for DreamWear Cpap but I use it for ResMed AirFit and it works so much better than the ResMed Headgear. It's comfortable and no slip on the back of my head to hold the mask in place. Reasonable price point also.

More comfortable than the original strap and doesn’t slip off your head as easily. Gave it 4 stars because it only lasted a couple months before it started to detach easily from the headgear.

To think, one simple change can make the world of difference! I was given an opportunity to test this specific Philips Dreamwear headgear late 2020 through a study with Philips. I will be honest with you, I wanted to keep the trial equipment and claim stupidity when I returned the study materials. That's how much I liked it then. And nothing has been changed since the study and now! Adding two rigid extensions that fit over the ear before attaching the strap makes the entire mask fit much better. Once I got everything adjusted right, the entire mask never moved and still, I could not feel any of the parts on my head. The test I participated in tested the new headgear and new nasal pillows with the origonal Dreamwear frame and the results were amazing. I will say, they also had me test a similar competitor's mask and I could not wait to get it off ... that's how much discomfort I felt. The new Dreamwear nose pillows and headgear elevate the entire mask system to a whole other level. Since changing to this style of headgear and nasal pillows, my sleep has improved and I spend less time making adjustments to get everything seated right when I lay down. They look different because they are different. Make the switch and see why the old style are selling for far less than they were before.

This headgear his so much better than the original! My DME company never informed me of the updated version, I'm assuming because they wanted to get rid of all the original ones. For years now, I've been wrestling with the original headgear that comes with my automatic shipments because it slides up the back of my head all night long. I just happened to see a picture of the updated version and decided to inquire about it. I'm not eligible to receive a new headgear for several more months, so I purchased one from Amazon. What a difference! It stays in place all night long, so no more tugging and adjusting! The only issue I have is that it's $15 for a couple small pieces of silicone and fabric. Overall, though, it's worth it to get a little more shut eye. As far as the sender, CPAPXchange, I received my product in only a few days. Very satisfied with my purchase!

J’ai été tres hesitant de commander cette article car j’avais l’ancien modèle qui ma durée plus de 5 ans. Pour ma part j’étais asser satisfait Apres avoir lu plusieurs commentaires, plusieurs mentionnais avoir problème que l’ancien masque ne restait pas en place la nuit et glisser derrière la tete !!! Effectivement javais le meme problème A mon grand étonnement , le nouveau modèle ne fait pas se problème et donc cela change réellement le confort A voir su qu’il existait ce modèle jaurais changer avant J’attribue la note de 5/5 il est parfait
