The virgin merino wool- compared to other types of wool or second-use wool- has unbroken, extra long fibers that interlock securely for an ultra soft, strong felt. Biodegradable and More Sustainable Unlike acrylic felt (made from petroleum) or eco-felt (made from plastic), This 35% virgin merino wool / 65% rayon (a byproduct of wood-cellulose) material will eventually biodegrade with less environmental impact. CleaningThis felt can be gently washed by hand (in cool water and laid flat to dry), dry cleaned, or (if and only if a different tighter-fibered texture is desired) machine washed. Please note that machine washing will alter the dimensions and texture of this felt fabric. When washing always use a detergent made for wool, in order to prevent the natural wool fibers from drying and becoming brittle.

Fabric color is off and a bit splotchy.
As another reviewer noted, the color is off in the seller's product photo. The fabric is darker and definitely has a tinge of purple in there. The overall color is also a bit splotchy when looked at in daylight. The un-uniformity of the color might have to do with the rayon/wool material itself. 2 photos attached.For the price ($18 for 36x36"), I wasn't expecting high-end, wool baize which would've cost 3x as much, but the slight splotchiness of the color was a dealbreaker for me. Depending on your usage, it might not matter as much to you. But for me, I had to unfortunately return it.

Felt was good quality, but the color was not as pictured
The quality of the felt itself was very nice, but the storm cloud color was not as pictured…it was more purplish than grey blue.
