Sun Bum Hair Lightener and Toner Kit for Blonde Hair - 4.5 oz, 1.5 oz

Ofc if your hair is darker, this may turn it orange-y. That’s just how hair lightening is. And for a lot of ppl, it’s not a one step process. The orange/yellow is also what the toner is for.. I’m a natural blonde with bleached hair. Always liked the look of my roots being darker but wanted them a lil lighter so this worked super well. It’s drying but not ruining my hair drying like the rest of it. I actually like that it takes some of the oil away because that’s part of the reason I bleach my hair. My roots looked kinda natural anyway since everyone’s hair is darker at the top but I feel like this made it blend way better. I use the toner at the very bottoms of my hair. It does moisture but for my hair, it’s a lil heavy. I like the idea of something I can spray in though without having to wash it out or sit there bleaching my hair which is a whole process that I’m just so over. All in all it works great. I stand out in the sun for 30 mins or so after spraying the lightener in and combing it thru. Also works better than I expected for highlights. Just wish the toner was a lil less heavy but not worried about it.

Did this noticeably lighten my hair? Yes. Did the toner help keep it from going orange and brassy? Also yes. Will I ever admit publicly that I used a hair lightener? Absolutely not. As far as anyone is concerned, this is entirely natural and I have simply spent an extraordinary amount of time outdoors lately. Apparently the sun has become very selective and is now highlighting specific sections of my hair with impressive consistency. Science is amazing. The lightener gave me a noticeable change without immediately launching me into frosted-tip boy-band territory, and the toner helped keep the color looking intentional instead of like I lost a fight with a bottle of peroxide in 1998. So yes, the kit works. But if anyone asks: Sun. All sun. Five stars.

The hair lightener - is great. Worked just as described. Hair lightened to a natural looking, sun-kissed blonde. The toner - tried multiple times. Just leaves my hair feeling oily.

So far, I’ve tried Suntouched, Sunbabe, and lastly Sun Bum. Without a doubt, Sun Bum not only lightened the best, but also seemed to nourish my hair. I have a ton of hair so I feel that I don’t get as many applications as other people might, however my hair lightened one level after finishing this bottle. My hair was a very badly grown out balayage with brown roots and light blonde ends. This product allowed me to gently blend the different levels. I intend to continue using this product over the others. Important to note: This product will lighten all hair that you apply it to. So if you want an all over lightning effect then apply all over. If you are trying to blend your roots, spray new growth only then gently brush downward towards already lightened hair. Wear gloves when applying and cover your ears with an oil ( I use castor oil) to prevent skin irritation!!!! Although this is a much more gentle alternative to bleaching, it does lift using a proprietary blend which Includes peroxide as one of its ingredients. If your hair is severely damaged or fried from over-lightening, take caution!

Works well...too well if you are not careful. I damaged my hair by applying to the point it sat on my scalp. Luckily I have thick hair bc it is still coming out with every brush. Just FOLLOW THE DIRECTIONS AND YOU SHOULD THOROUGHLY ENJIY THIS PRODUCT!

I used this for a whole summer. It lightened my hair BUT IT CAUSED SO MUCH DAMAGE! A year later I still have breakage. It shouldn’t be used heavily- it is damaging. It is a fun thing to use a couple of times but it’s still hydrogen peroxide

So amazing I used this on my vacation last week and it worked, it would have worked better if I had left it on longer before getting in the pool but with 30 minutes of use you can see a difference.

I have dark brown hair. If you use this over and over it will work. It will make your hair orange. If you buy expensive toner purple shampoo it will make your hair blonde.
