Picture does not do this beauty justice ~ LOVE IT
This is decidedly THE most beautiful thing I've ever had on my stove ~Now, to the complaints folks have had in other reviews as well as my personal observations...First of all, no tea kettle has ever claimed it won't rust. Any of them will rust eventually if you leave water in it.The whistle: Nice mellow whistle with a pleasant sound to it. Not the ear piercing shriek of my last kettle that I couldn't possibly miss in a million years. This is the perfect kettle for me but I do have very sensitive ears and anything louder or more shrill would offend me deeply. My last one (same bottom and interior as this one) lasted 10 years before it started to show signs of rust and I abused the crap out of it. I finally threw it out because the handle melted and gave at the bottom (no longer attached to the kettle) ~ it sat closer to the flame than this one does, I'm sure it was my fault as I've always put them on high heat (gas). I want my TEA ~ lolThere are instructions as to what to do if rust does start to appear: add 2 Tbsp of baking soda, a little lemon juice and water, then boil. Never use anything abrasive (and since I'm using this water for my tea I personally wouldn't use anything chemical for fear of it leaving residue that would wind up in ME). They do recommend you don't leave water in it but let's be realistic, that's not gonna happen. The finish on this thing is SO gorgeous... And quite by accident it matches the readout on my stove :o)Recommended to use a pot holder but really not necessary. It doesn't get that hot.It pours nicely too. Good balance to it.As for protecting the finish, it's probably best to use a medium flame... It's really beautiful and probably would have issues if the flame lapped over the side, but that's what the instructions tell you to use anyway, medium flame. I've managed to live with that since I bought it and it hasn't killed me yet so I suppose it's a small sacrifice...Love the free shipping with Amazon Prime too ~ got it in 2 days. Ordered a different one by Copco the same day (sentimental reasons ~ see review of Copco Holsteam kettle) and it still hasn't gotten here a week later... That was shipped by an outside source.

Loud whistle
Great Tea kettle with a good whistle. I like the vibrant green color. Goes well in our festive kitchen. Good handle grip and durable product.

LOVE it but....
This teakettle was everything I wanted! I get ridiculously specific ideas in my head of what I want and I wanted a pretty orange teakettle. It's got a nice shape, a handle that stays cool and the color is to DIE for. HOWEVER, the surface came marred (not grossly) a couple of little scratches, a couple of small spots that look like steel wool got to it, minor really, but I bought it specifically because of the finish. What's irritating is that Amazon had one listed as scratched at half the price AND free shipping. If I had known the surface wasn't going to be perfect I would have gone ahead and saved a bunch of money! It looks AMAZING on my stove though!Update:Finish is almost completely gone, I don't scrub or use heavy cleaners. Seems like the heat causes it to bubble and peel. Sad.

Nice looking and loud whistle.
I bought this Thanksgiving and no rust yet. It's a nice tea kettle. It's a nice size. The rust might depend on where you live. In dry climates like west Texas or Wyoming you won't have much problem, but humid places may have trouble with rust on everything. The black on the color may come from propane or gas stoves. I am using it on a glasstop electric cooktop and have had no problems. Even when I put it on the large burner that is too big for it, there is no problem with discoloration. Whistle is very loud so you can hear it from the other room and run to shut it off. If you don't want it to whistle, prop the lid open. But don't lift the whistler or it will boil out water all over the stove. To clean the hard water depost, then every month or two I boil it with about 1/2 cup vinegar to 4 cups water and it will clean all the hard water deposit out from inside.

Nice design and function for a reasonably priced kettle!
Nice, inexpensive kettle. Love the blue color. I follow directions and don’t let the flame or heat extend beyond the bottom of the kettle (that’s good practice with any kettle). It has a nice whistle. I also like that it has a lid to Access the inside of the pot. The only reason I docked it a star for cleaning is because I’ve noticed the color transfers to the sponge when I wipe it. I haven’t noticed any change or loss of color on the actual kettle though.

It rusts! And it catches fire!
This one is pretty on the outside and is cute on your stove but..... it rusts! You would not think of having to read the instruction sheet for a pot that boils water on your stove. But after mine started to ruse (inside), I looked at the little flyer that came with it and saw that they don't want you to leave water in it between uses because the pot would rust! Hilarious. I wonder if my boat has to stay out of the water too?I would rate this kettle zero but 1 is the lowest available.Save your money and buy a tried and true stainless steel kettle with the copper bottom from Revereware. My mom has one that she has used for 40+ years. Read your manuals and listen to your mother!Update 2012: I came back to see how this crappy product has survived in the reviews. I am amazed. Pictures of the kettle catching on fire. Medium heat is required by manufacturer. Ridiculous. This thing is supposed to do two things. Hold water and let it boil on a stove. Instead it catches fire, handles melt off and it rusts (says so in the manual and mine did). The CPSC is all over Buckey Balls but ignores this product. In my opinion, stay clear of this pot if you value your health and your family's safety. Seriously? Just because it is so cute, you are going to buy it?

Enjoy your tea
I almost forgot to review this tea kettle. I use it daily and am very pleased with its performance.

Excellent x2
I was gifted this tea pot from my mom a couple years ago. It was a Gevalia promotion that she had gotten with tea. I used it *DAILY* for a couple years.Pros:Water boils quickly.Whistle is just right, not too loud or too quiet. It looks nice enough to be left out all the time.Tips: Drain the water completely. Leaving water in it for a long time can make it rust. Don't go above medium heat and you will lengthen the life of this tea pot.I accidently set my too hot tea pot on a cheap trivet and melted the trivet to the bottom. I searched high an low, and finally found that Amazon carried this one. So I purchased it hoping it would be the exact same one, and it is! It still has the great quality and quick boil time. I've been using this one, again daily, for a couple of months and it is still in perfect condition!

Buen producto, pintura baja calidad

Great small kettle
Kettle is just as described, it works well on my gas stove. Very light and the whistle isn’t loud which I love. The product seems well made but I don’t expect it to last years and years.
