Pump for warmer pool
This little pump works very well. Initially used for bird bath. Now at 3 years old and still working! However, I use it for purpose unrelated now...to pump pool water into long rubber garden hose that sits in sun all day, cleverly behind a fence...as otherwise unsighly hanging around pool, only inlet and outlets show. Sun gets water in hose warm and returns to pool 2+ degrees warmer for free. Can't believe it works this hard to get a slow trickle (15 gallons/hour) back into pool at 100+ degrees for approximately 4-5 hours on bright sunny days. It warms water enough to go in pool earlier and longer. (I do put solar cover on pool after sundown and take the pump out after sundown, until next sunny day). I had been looking at those poly panels that sit on roof and pump solar warmed pool water from pool pump for $$$$$. Can't believe this basically warms for free, not looking for hot pool water, just sweet spot of 82+ degrees.

Perfect purchase
This is NOT a paid review!!This little fountain is awesome! My test to see how well it worked:I attached the tip I wanted, suctioned it to a bread pan, filled with water (covering the pump but not the tip) and the minute I stepped outside to try it the water started to spray. My findings:A) If the sun hides behind a cloud or a panel is covered (I did with my finger to test) it stops but as soon as the panel is back in full exposure this bad boy kicks up again.B) It does drain your pan of water pretty quickly unless it's set up in a wide enough base to continually recycle through, a birdbath would be perfect size to prevent the pump being out of water - which will destroy it.C) Plus, it's solar so not adding to a bill or wasting resources (the water will be drunk by the cats~ this will give it flow)So worth it, going to buy another! It looks so cool, I can't wait for the little area I bought it for to be set up. My kitten is a weirdo and loves it when the water sprays up as I'm filling the water bowl, she's going to love it!Edit 3.13.20: my outside area is set up. Today I submerged the pump in about a foot of water. It's giving perfect flow to keep the water fresh for my cats. I'll eventually build a better (as in actual) fountain but for now it's pretty dang perfect!Edit: 6.4.20 One of my units stopped working. I cleaned the area it was in, making sure the pump had no chance of running when out of water. I put everything back together and nothing. I reached out to CS to see if thry had any suggestions. Before they had an opportunity to respond I decided to take a wet cloth to the solar panel (I wipe in down every couple of days from the dust build up in my area) and it immediately started up again. This was about 4 weeks ago. Still pumping strong!

Three years-
Worked well in direct sunlight, summers, for 3 years. Bought May, 2022. Stopped working, August, 2025. Wish it worked longer but probably good enough lifespan for the $ spent

Perfect!
I bought this for a bird bath in my garden. I love birds so I want to make sure there’s a bird oasis in my yard. Having a bird bath with just standing water wasn’t cutting it but my bird bath isn’t anywhere near a power source, so solar power was my only option. I went through a million different options but decided on this one.I just got the pump today and as soon as I walked outside with it, before I even took off the covering on the panel, it started right up. I live on the Atlantic coast in Florida which means it’s usually super sunny here but there is always a coastal breeze... that being said, I didn’t put any of the attachments on the pump because it would literally just blow the water out of the bird bath. I’m ok with using it without the attachments because it still makes a lovely water moving type noise that birds love, keeps the mosquitoes at bay because the water isn’t stagnant, and still looks great. The pump definitely only works in direct sun, noticed it slows almost to a stop when a cloud passes over. Still kind of sputters though. On the plus side, the cord is long enough to move around the panel as needed. I knew this ahead of time so it’s not a negative in my book.I’ve been having trouble attracting warblers in my yard, they seem to just fly right over and head to my neighbors tree, BUT I’m so excited because about 30 minutes after I started the pump up one kept coming to check out the fountain! They haven’t landed yet but I know have high hopes. Yay!
