My mom needs occasional use of a wheelchair for doctors appointments and other situations where she would otherwise need to get places. I did a great deal of research before deciding on this brand and model. We noticed that this brand is used at the hospitals we’ve been to recently, as well as the doctors offices where mom’s had appointments. This wheelchair has been a really great addition to her mobility aids. It’s easy to push, easy to unfold, and super easy to fold up by simply pulling up on the seat. My husband is also able to get this wheelchair into the car without much problem because it’s not terribly heavy. My mom is a larger woman. She’s 5’7 and weighs a bit over 200 pounds. We were really happy that she fits easily in this chair with room to spare. She said it’s comfortable for short periods of time. She wouldn’t want to spend long periods of time sitting in this chair but that’s also true of any wheelchair, regular chair, or any seated position because she suffers with debilitating chronic pain. If you’re looking for a manual wheelchair that’s really affordable, easy to use, and easy to push or maneuver, this Drive Medical SSP220DDA-ELR Silver Sport 2 is an excellent choice. I really don’t have a negative thing to say about this wheelchair! I had extensive knee surgery and learned I would be non-weight bearing for approximately 6 weeks. Crutches and/or a walker wasn’t going to cut it all the time at home, or going out. Due to the immobilizer brace, I had to have a wheelchair that included the leg/foot rests. Since it was a temporary situation, I didn’t want to spend a lot and after countless phone calls looking to rent a chair as well as searching on second hand sites, it became clear that purchasing a chair would be the best option. The Drive Medical Silver Sport arrived in 2 days and the only assembly needed was attaching the leg rests which is fantastic. It is incredibly durable, and I feel safe getting in and out of it as the wheel locks are easily accessible and work very well. I chose the larger size since I plan on keeping it and I wanted my husband to be able to use it if needed. It is a bit too large for some of our doorways (our house is old). It folds up easily for transport, but is a little heavy for me to carry down the stairs or put in the car due to my injury. I would recommend purchasing a wheelchair seat pad because the standard seat can be a bit uncomfortable if your are in the chair for an extended period of time. It is a quality item and reasonably priced.

My mom loves it. Fits her needs and is comfortable. Just wish the legs were distinguishable (marked left and right) as far as assembly is concerned. But, yeah, I love that it came fully assembled other than that.

Bought this for my father in law who has mobility issues. I spent a lot of time trying to work with his insurance and trying to find something in a thrift shop to save some money. Finally realized that I could find reasonable priced quality wheelchairs on Amazon. This one is a well known brand, it’s sturdy and durable, and it came with the option for the wider seat that he wanted. We were very pleased with our purchase.

The wheelchair met all of my expectations. It matched the description well. The removable, elevating leg rests with pads are an important feature for my mother because she needs to keep pressure off her thighs. The removable arm rests are helpful in transferring her from chair to car and back. The pocket on the back of the seat is a bonus to slip a cell phone or book in. You can even tuck in a light jacket. The chair is easy to maneuver for someone pushing or my mother driving herself around the nursing home. It is not lightweight, but I didn't expect it to be, after all it is a 45 lb. metal wheelchair. I don't have any problem lifting it to put it in the trunk of the car to transport. Overall pleased with this Drive Silver Sport II wheelchair.

They changed the weight limit description after I purchased it. When I bought it in 2023, I purposely selected this because it said it could handle up to 400 lbs. I was around 355 lbs so that worked out. After a couple years, the seat is tearing. I'm repairing it now and noticed they changed it to 350 lbs max weight. Always go UP from your real weight when buying. You might have to carry foods, bags etc and that adds to the weight (wear and tear) over time.

This wheelchair is worth every penny! My last visit to the ER with a badly injured foot and no wheelchairs available was horrible! I decided then because I usually sprain my ankle at least once a year I will not be going thru that situation again! I have peace of mind knowing I have my own and no more worry! The only thing I noticed is I have to adjust the brakes but other then that she is ready to go.. The price was excellent and the service was excellent as usual! Thank you Amazon once again for a wonderful product at a reasonable price.

Wheelchair appears to be well constructed, the adjustable leg supports seem a little flimsey but are operating as they should, time will tell. Comfortable for user, easy to wheel and accessible wheel locks. The armrests lift out quite easily by pressing button on the arm rest so the wheelchair can fit under a table, very handy as the user can stay in wheelchair while eating. Finish looks as though it will stand up over time. I like this product and think it is a good price and quality. The leg supports come off and fits into my medium sized trunk with little effort. I recommend this product
