Exceptional Air PurifierโWorth Every Penny!
I am absolutely delighted with the Sharp FX-J80. It has completely exceeded my expectations and truly delivers on its promises! Right out of the box, you can tell this is a premium appliance. The build quality is impeccable, and the design is incredibly sleek and stylish. It looks expensive and blends beautifully into the room. The soft blue air-quality indicator light is very delicate and pleasant. The cleaning power of this machine is nothing short of amazing. It features Sharp's patented Plasmacluster Ion Technology, and the difference in air quality is immediately noticeable. This particular model has Sharp's highest PCI rating at 25,000 (versus 7,000 for their entry-level models). Walking into the room feels deeply fresh, almost like being near a waterfall or in the mountains. It tackles everything effortlesslyโcooking odors vanish, and if there is outdoor smoke or dust, you can literally watch the machine detect and clear the particles on the digital readout. It is powerful enough to handle large areas, easily purifying the air across multiple rooms. With four cleaning stages and seven different modes, it is highly customizable for any situation. What really surprised me is how quiet it is. When set to Auto, Pollen, or Sleep mode, the machine is almost completely silent. It is perfect for a bedroom or home office where you do not want any distracting background noise. But when you want a quick clean, it sends a blast of air out of both the front and back very effectively. One of the biggest selling points for me is the filter life. While other brands require you to buy expensive replacements every few months, the FX-J80's filters are cleanable and built to last for years. This significantly extends the service life and makes the purifier's total lifetime cost of ownership an incredible value. If you are on the fence about purchasing this unit, don't hesitate. It is a fantastic, highly capable machine that makes a genuine difference in the home. Highly recommended!

Quiet and clean air immediately
I bought this for pollen and dog smell. It works really well especially for dogs smell, since we started to use this, we donโt have any smell problems. It took time to paring with Alexa and my phone (idk why I canโt use my gmail address but my husbandโs can) but easy to set up. It looks so clean and stylish, also super quiet! When I used manicure, it reacted immediately and clean up the air and remove the smell. It was on sale so I paid $180 ish, it is worth for money, actually it was the cheapest with Alexa function and also sharp is well known brand of air products. We are really satisfied with this product.

Pretty Good
Its pretty good. The only thing its lacking is a low-medium mode. Low is too low for some situations. Its very quiet but medium is too strong. The connection process was a nightmare. Had to connect my girlfriend's phone to my phone using a mobile hotspot snd then manually enter my router. If you had a non-mesh router with iPhone it might be easier. Without the iPhone it wouldn't have been possible. It took about 3-4 hours to figure it out and im not that tech illiterate.

Great air purifiers!
This is my 5th Sharp air purifier I have in my house. They help keep the air fresh and clean. I have two with humidification and three that are w/o humidification. These work great and are quiet. I am sensitive to seasonal allergies and these really help!

Super quiet and easy to use
I never paid much attention for the need for air purifier until the smoke from all the fire in the west where my family and I live. Instantly, I picked 2 of the top of the line of air purifiers by the brand I can trust for its state of the art innovation and technology and reliability: FXJ80U by SHARP. They are well worth paying premium for great technology that will last: I am especially enthusiastic about the SHARP Plasmacluster technology that generates ions that actively eliminates microscopic pollutants. And the double filter system using HEPA filter gives me sense of peace of mind. For example, according to PC magazine, NASA study found that HEPA filters can capture almost 100 percent of particles as small as 0.01 micrometers (or 10 nanometers), well exceeding the standard. To put that in perspective, COVID-19 is about 60 to 140 nanometers in diameter. Itโs easy to set up and get going. I am sensitive to noise and this product is super quiet which I love. The app is convenient to use and also love using Alexa to change settings. The 2 air purifiers I bought have been magnificent for me and family, and have been recommending my colleagues to buy SHARP air purifier FXJ80U.

Initial thoughts
This is a review for FXJ80UW. I have had a FPA80UW for around 10 years. I broke it, and it won't turn on, so it was time to get a replacement. The FXJ80UW is only an inch deeper and several inches taller than the FPA, so if the space wasn't tight, it'll be able to fit in the same spot. IMPORTANT: I didn't really buy the purifier for the filters. I ran mine filterless and only got it for the Plasmacluster(positive ion) generator, because I perceived it to help me. Sharp has standalone Plasmacluster units, but I thought an air purifier MIGHT have better generators, and Sharp isn't particularly informative about these. After receiving the unit, I don't believe it's any better, because the generator on it is quite small. I briefly explored the NA website, and the FXJ is the only air purifier they sell here that has the 25k plasmacluster series. It basically means more than the regular 7k series. But if you just want the plasmaclusters, it's probably better to just get the standalone generators. The filter system is very bare bones. The pre-filter seems to be integrated with the carbon, with a supposedly vacuum-able HEPA behind. The carbon filter is very thin, with carbon pellets in little slots that don't fill to the top. I run 20 pounds of carbon for my purifier, so the carbon sheet is a joke. The filter compartment is too small for you to add a makeshift filter. Basically, it's just a blower for a HEPA filter. The filter compartment is in the back of the unit, and there's a thin output slot in front, and an indented output on top. The design doesn't make any sense. The FPA had front loaded filters, which made it easier to access. Honestly, the output location for an air purifier mostly doesn't matter, but this unit happened to be great for me. The thin front outlet is perfect for fitting a tray/plate/lid that can be filled with liquid, which I use to disperse vinegar into the air(if you know, you know), and it does this very well. The indented back outlet is great for placing small, contaminated objects for pre-treatment. The controls are a step up from the FPA, as in, it doesn't have mushy buttons, but it's somewhat unconventional. The buttons are on the top, but the display is on the front, so you need to be at 2 different angles, which makes it a little hard to use. You have to have the unit turned off to actually change the settings, and it's not self-explanatory, so you have to find the function descriptions from the manual. Fortunately, the settings are retained even if you unplug the power. To summarize, this happens to have features that are perfect for me, but I would not recommend it for an air purifier, and not the best model if you just want plasmacluster. A final word on Plasmacluster. Yes, it works. It won't miraculously clear smoke from the air. It is like an active, mild scrubber. You can't really tell it's working while it's working, but you'd notice the difference when it's not in use.
