I’m very, very happy with this set!I had a set many, many years ago, and expected this to be of a similar size, but everything in this set is scaled up. I expected the brushes to be about 15cm long, and able to produce a maximum line width of around a centimetre, but these are about 25cm long, with enough width to be able to produce very decently sized characters. They also feel nice in the hand, seem to be of a good quality.The suzuri is twice the size of my previous, and able to hold a good amount of ink.The sumi itself has some kind of holographic seal, which may be an indicator that it’s of good quality. It certainly seems to be.The other elements are also perfectly fine, including a ceramic brush stand and water bowl, and two wooden paperweights.I’d highly recommend this set for anyone who, like me, is a beginner (or returner after many years).

Amazing set you need to soak them first and just remove loose hair before painting or you will get annoyed... I found this the best way or you will have loose hairs on your painting... After a soak and removal fabulous truly a beautiful set to have... Just wish I knew what the Chinese weighting was... But very pleased

Overall a great product but sometimes while I'm using it the brush head hairs come off a little but I still really enjoy using it. If the ink dries you can dip the brush in the water and just loosen up the ink that you've already grinded.

This Chinese Calligraphy set looks very nice. It's for my granddaughters Christmas present so hasn't been used yet. However I am sure she is going to be delighted with it.

Got this as a Birthday present for my Daughter and she loved it.

A very good set for the money. The brushes (and the ink) appear to be adequate quality for real use by a beginner (haven't used - giving as a gift). It's unusual for such kits to include the wood-block paper weights ... a nice touch.
