Looks nice, but not that loud
I'm a casual gamer and I listen to some music from time to time at my workstation. I recently changed my setup to a dual monitor setup and I thought to use this opportunity to change my previous Logitech Z130 speakers to a nicer looking one. The MICA speakers looks decent and is reasonably priced. It sounds decent. It isn't going to blow anyone away with its quality, but for a normal workstation, it does the job. The only reason why I didn't give this review 5 stars is because the speaker isn't that loud. My previous Z130 speakers at 5w was louder than this one at 10w. Luckily, I don't like blasting music or playing anything too loud. If I wanted more sound, I would just put on my headphones. For what I needed to do as a workstation, it works fine.

Neat speaker for the price.
I wanted a simple speakers to listen to music, watch movies/shows/youtube and a little gaming here and there for my desktop. I considered the Bose companion 2 series 3 before choosing the MICA and I'm glad I chose MICA simply because of the price and the look of the speaker. I'm sure the bose speakers would have been nice but I wasn't looking for beautiful, crystal clear or bass boomy sound in speakers; just something simple and a cool looking sound bar. I enjoy style of the MICA, reminds me of a guitar amp and that alone won me over. The sound for 35 bucks, I'm happy with how loud it gets. Describing the sound it's pretty flat overall but again that's okay with me. Another thumbs up for me is that the speaker gets powered through USB.

Sleek Looks, Hollow Sound
The speaker itself looks great. The classic styling matches nicely with most setups and is especially sleek under a monitor riser. The volume knob on the side is way more practical than buttons and is simpler to use and the kit comes with some pretty nice cables (braided). As a bonus, the power cable is USB-C and in today's setups it should be that way. Unfortunately, beyond offering a little more volume than traditional laptop speakers, the speaker to me sounds hollow and tinny. Bass is practically non-existent. I compared this with the Creative Air Soundbar , which is only about $15 more, and the Creative sounds better and has more bass and volume. For that low of a price range difference, I opted to stick with the Creative. If you're just looking for more volume, you won't be disappointed with the MICA and the price is appropriate for what you're getting. But, if you want something you wouldn't be as disappointed with using for some occasional music / entertainment viewing while working, the Creative Air is a better choice.

Nice looking, but has static sound UPDATE: anddd it's dead after a week)
UPDATE: Just do yourself a favor and don't get this speaker. It's complete garbage. in addition to the problems below, it just died. After a week of use. What a piece of junk. Unfortunately, I tossed the box, so there goes $35 I guess.---This is a very nice looking speaker, but unfortunately, they went super cheap on the circuitry and there's no noise elimination so you just get constant static, as many other reviewers have stated. For $40, I don't expect awesome audio quality, but I'm so tired of ultra-cheaply made products like this that can't even perform the basic task they're intended to perform. The product page is also amusing, "we use natural medium density fiberboard"... this is basically sawdust and glue. It's really unfortunate because if they'd just spent the few extra cents to fix this, it would be a really nice economy computer speaker. As it is, it's just complete garbage that I now need to return.

A lot of bang for the buck
It's actually bigger and it sounds a lot better than I thought. I didn't expect much for the price, but I'm really pleasantly surprised by the rich and pleasant sound.

Great Speaker just missing Low End and Presence
I'm a professional Sound Engineer and was looking for a small speaker to listen to general audio (TV show, Movie, Game, Background Music), I have 2 professional speaker sets in my studio for mastering and daily productions, however at night I don't like the sound to be as loud/dynamic therefore I was looking for a small speaker to just play sound at low levels. I first looked at Bluetooth Speakers with aux input but this MICA speaker caught my attention and decided to give it a shot. The construction, feel and looks are excellent, however sound is ok with exception of Lows and Highs, they seem to roll off and the mid range seemed a bit high and flat but it worked fine for my needs. I attached a RTA snap with Pink Noise. If you need a speaker for just listening dialogue or computer sound this speaker is perfect.
