Good Camera But ....
Very capable camera, but also extremely difficult to learn and counter-intuitive, definitely not a camera for someone looking for an easy journey, but if you want to take the time to learn your way around a camera that will get you there, this one will do the job and get you back again.Buy a book and U-Tube it; the owners manual is worthless and Luminex does not do customer or tech service!

Lot of information
This book provides a ton of information. I would have liked it to provide a bit more commentary in lay terms. Very comprehensive.

not as advertised
i'm a bit disapopointed with this book. i'm one who actually reads manuals; in fact, i read both the regular and advanced for the gx85. too much of this book was just a re-hash of the manuals and not, as advertised, why and when you would want to use a particular setting. there's some of that, but not enough. i think mr. thorpe does a great job with his youtube videos, but i feel this book was put together quickly and did not deliver as explained in the description.

A bit challenging to read and use.
Has the information, but the format of the book is a bit challenging to read and use. The sections are titled 'pages', and they are put together in a total run-on of text. Could have used some professional editing and formatting. and the addition of some photos to help show what is being referenced would have greatly helped.

Great Addition to the Manual
Book is very helpful.

A good guide to setting up the camera.
I recently purchased a GX85. This guide was very helpful in getting through appropriate camera settings and was, in my view, invaluable in setting up this wonderful and very capable camera. Highly recommended.

Not much more than the manual
Mostly a regurgitation of what's in the manual that came with the camera. A couple of items that were unclear in the manual, were also unclear in this book. Not worth the price, IMHO.

Essential Info for GX85 Users
A clear and useful guide to operation of the GX85 features. This manual presents a rational structure to the huge range of settings available to a user on this digital camera. It is a great companion to the user manual, and gets you ready to take pictures using both basic features and the more advanced techniques offered by the camera.

Amazing
I read manuals but not every one understands the manual I lent my Gx80 to a friend and got this book to help them understand the camera better, I read the book it doesn't tell you how it explains the process of the menu of the camera, it taught me so much more, its a shame David Thorpe died but his YouTube videos and books can still be seen, he is the reason I went for Micro four thirds camera's, I also own the G9 book.

Quite good
It covers what it says, but isn't as comprehensive as I had hoped.I bought the camera about six months ago and I love it. It's a very clever little camera and it can take great pictures. But its learning curve is a bit steep.I had the official manual printed onto paper in colour and bound (Β£5.50 by someone on ebay) and it's a lot more useful in that form. Unfortunately, like this book, there is no index, just a very high level Contents.I have more or less got to grips with the menus and controls but there are one or two areas where I am not confident. I have been reassured about the main areas of the menu by reading through the book and finding that the author seems to describe the same as my understanding. So far so good, but so far of limited value to me.One area where I am pretty much at sea is the WiFi. However apart from initial setup this is invoked on the camera via function buttons and these are obviously not covered by this book about the menu. I have sat down and played around with the WiFi and the associated app but it really seem to be so difficult and counter-intuitive as to be useless. (BTW I'm a very experienced IT professional) So it's a pity Mr Thorpe didn't include a chapter on the WiFi, with some scenarios of usage and associated actions on the app and the camera. To be fair I haven't found anything like that for any other camera nor for such cameras in general. The author is good at explaining the functions covered by the menu and I was interested to have gained a bit more insight too. Thanks

Not much good
Hard to access information, no index, content just lists chapters so if you want to find anything particular you need to scroll through the book. The content is very poor, basic. The book by Arthur Cam is only a couple of pounds more and much better
