Vent-Axia Va100xht Axial Extract Fan - 251510 with Humidity Sensor

I really like this fan. The product picture doesn't do it justice and while it looks a bit retro and clunky, in fact it's quite sleek and low profile. It has a powerful fan and gets rid of the humid steamy air in the bathroom in no time at all. Yes, it's a bit noisy. But that's because of the volume of air it shifts and the short time it needs to do this. The humidity sensor is sensitive. The instructions mentions it take a few hours to set the controls. Its more like two days to tweak it. But once set, it's good to go. I like the louvers that open and close when it switches on and off, which cuts down on draughts. A bit more expensive than most fans but worth it and good value for money.

It works really well once you have it set correctly but it's a lot noisier than I expected it to be.A few design issues to note- there's no adjustment in the screw holes so you better drill it right first time- the shutters don't close completely at the edge so there's a slight draft coming through the gaps- when fitting this the shutter flaps fell out onto the floor a few times. The mechanism to hold them into place is quite flimsy and the slightest touch brings them all crashing down. They're quite fiddly to get back in too. The flaps also fell out when I took the cover off to adjust it and the fan started unexpectedly due to the humidity sensor kicking in.- would have been better if the adjustment screws were accessible without having to remove the cover

Good value and easy to install.

Baffled, quiet, altogether a very good extractor fan.
