Great lil covert humidifier for the office/cube
I just got mine today but so far so good. It works great (emits more mist than I thought it would)and blends right in (we are not allowed humidifiers so I have to be sneaky). It's not like a full room humidifier, but for something that's in your workspace (ie 3 feet from my face) it's good. I can't hear any noise and it just looks like I have some VERY steamy coffee! I can't speak for its longevity but today I'm happy. Also I had no problem with the desk being wet as another commenter said. It does not make the surrounding area damp.UPDATE: I accidentally left it on when I left work overnight and I was sure it was going to be broken (if not burn down the building). Turns out it was fine, I added more water and it started working immediately. Good to know.UPDATE (1/25/13): I just started using the unit again this winter and after one day, something in the top has moved inside so that it will only work if you really press and hold the power cord in. Too bad, I loved this little thing but it barely works so now I'll have to replace it (not with another one like this, as I want something that will last more than one winter).

Nice humidifier, could be better
This is a cute handy humidifier for a local area (small cubicle). It puts out a good amount of water, without making things around it moist or dew covered. It does make a small hissing noise when running, but that's expected for this type of humidifier. The cons are only two:The upper system is not as sealed as it should be, allowing water to get into the lid area where the circuit that runs it lives. This is fixable by opening the top and hot-gluing the areas around the ring to make a better seal. Something they should have done. The other thing that kills is the "filter" used. They're hard to find, since they're basically empty ink cartridges used in larger markers. I was able to find them on a craft supply site, but you then have to get the right diameter and cut them to the proper length. You only need to replace them every couple months (less if you use filtered water to start with).

Would probably enjoy it if it worked. :(
I gave this a 1 because - the product did not work, ever. I purchased the Coffee Cup Humidifier, because of its size, unique features and it being an individual unit. I was quite sad to see that it didnt work and even more bummed when the company I bought it from ignored my request for replacement. So the only positive to this transaction, Amazon rocked and gave me a refund of my whoppin $10.50 spent!Bottom line, I guess you get what you pay for. A $10.00 plastic cup. (now free, thanks Amazon!)

Stops working after a few months. Don't buy!
Bought this back in January 29, 2012. It was good and worked fine for a few months, the mist was very strong. Then the mist just stopped coming out. It only spits a bit, and never really picks up. I've changed the filter and cleaned the container, and nothing's changed. I wouldn't recommend this product to anyone I know.

It's a joke
First off, I am a little bummed out that I ordered the one that was dollar more because I thought it was the "star" design. Apparently, you just get whatever they send. It's not that big of a deal. I followed the directions, filled it up and plugged it in and the saddest little stream of mist is wafting out of it. Are you kidding me? I guess you get what you pay for. It's a lesson well learned. I will suck it up and pay for a decent one. Some people in my office have the ones with the water bottle attached and they work much better.

works great at first but stops working
so it worked great at first.the mist was strong and worked great...then about a month later, it stopped working.so i tweaked the chord around and started working againand then the chord started to smell like it was burning..so i got worried and stopped using for a few days.then i tried to use it again but the mist was very very weak when i move around the chordsand when i wake up, it wasnt working at all.so i got to use it for about a month and that was it..so, to be honest..i wouldnt recommend this for a long run

Three Stars
This did not last long...

Only worked for a day
Do not bother with this, drop a bit of extra money on a better model. The steam leaks into the USB port on the lid, shorting itself out. It ran for a couple hours total until it fried itself.Seriously, DO NOT PURCHASE, you will only end up returning it and wasting your time and/or money.
