OtterBox Defender Standing Case for Kindle Fire HDX 7", Green

Despite the other 1 star reviews stating this case doesn't fit, and the buttons don't line up correctly, I ordered a used "OtterBox Defender Standing Case for Kindle Fire HDX 7", Green" from WareHouseDeals, which was shipped by Amazon. I took the chance because of the name OtterBox has made for themselves, and because of my personal experience with their products.When I got the case i was horrified to find the 1 star reviews to be correct... sort of. Upon closer inspection I discovered that what I actually received was an OtterBox case for a Kindle HD7, not an HDX7. The box (open box of course since it was used) was labeled as being for an HDX7, and the item itself has no markings either way. But when I went to OtterBox's web site and looked closely at the pictures for the HD7 and the HDX7 case the differences are clear to see. Most obvious is the lack of a cut out for the front facing camera, and the speaker holes being in a different place on the two models.Amazon is taking care of the issue for me, so once I get the correct item I will post a review for it.UPDATE:After receiving the correct item and having it for a bit now, I must say it fits perfectly and has kept my Kindle safe through numerous interactions with my 2 year old. Easily a five star product once getting what I actually ordered.

I got this otterbox case the same time I got my Kindle Fire HDX 7". It fits very well. Some may find it a little difficult to put the case on or take it off because it is such a secure cover, but after the first time I accidentally dropped my Kindle (in the Otterbox) on a slab of concrete, I was happy I had it! I mostly focused on getting an Otterbox case because my ex-husband has used this brand for years on his iPhone and that thing gets dropped all the time. In fact, once he dropped his phone in a parking lot & didn't realize it until someone from the place called him & said it had been run thru the snowblower! The device remained undamaged and the case was still useable too. So my general opinion of this brand of device case is quite high.I like the cover being used as a stand. And all buttons and functionality works fine with the case on the Kindle.The only reason I don't give it five stars is because it does increase the weight of the device, I think, quite substantially.

This was purchased for my 5yr old's Kindle. It's a learning and play tool and it could take a beating as he is only 5 - although he's great with his device, we wanted something durable for that "just in case" moment. YES it bulks it up but it's completely worth it if you are looking for the ultimate protection for your device. Plus, the green is bright enough not to be obnoxious and yet, easy to find if it didn't make it back to the charger (we're learning!). We love the stand, it makes work time nice and easy at the table/desk as he does his reading and math. And at night he likes to fall asleep to Pandora... having the Kindle in the stand to "dock it" at his desk so to speak also keeps him accountable for returning it to its "home base". The only drawback - if an app freezes and you need to reboot, it does so more effectively when I can get to the power button directly to hold down and reboot so I do have to peel the case off for that (no biggie). Otherwise everything lines up GREAT, the whole screen cover does not interfere with the touch screen at all (wow), all in all it was worth the investment!

I bought the OtterBox for my wife's Kindle Fire HDX 7" as soon as I purchased her Kindle This case has saved her Kindle so many times that I can't even count. She has dropped her Kindle on just about every surface - including our concrete patio (yes, she's a klutz) and her Kindle still works as fine as it did as the day we received it. The thing is just indestructible. Not only that, but after almost a years use (and abuse), the Kindle still looks brand-new. Unlike some reviewers, I didn't find it difficult at all to put together. I just followed the instructions and it went together quick and easy. My grown children all have OtterBox cases for their IPhones and are more than satisfied with them. In fact, my son drove off in his car one day and soon realized he had left his phone on the roof of his car. After back-tracking a ways, he found the phone. The case was cracked, but the phone still worked, and is still working fine months after this happened. So thank you OtterBox for an outstanding product.

This case is SO CUTE for what it is. I bought the 'apple green' color, and it's just as bright in person; cheerful really. I would expect the pink and blue to be the same way. The case itself does add quite a bit of weight to the Kindle Fire HDX, but you're literally buying armor for your pricey gadget. Which to me, you would and should protect it. The Otterbox has easy assembly, and superior protection. The case/cover that comes with it is very handy (4 viewing positions) and offers even more protection. I have defender series on all of our devices (phones and tablets), and have yet to say "I wish we never paid this much, or never bought this." They are a worthwhile investment!

I cannot honestly say that I am fond of this case. I have an Otter for my phone that I love. This is my 3rd Kindle. I never had this type of case. My "instant on" case was much more desirable. I am not real rough & tough on my Kindle. I do wish that I hadn't been so hasty and ordered it because it was shown as "customers also purchased". I wish I had the previous case I bought for my other Kindles. After spending the considerable cost for it, I'm not going to spend more for a replacement for this. I suggest for maybe someone that has a child that uses it. Too bulky to toss in my purse like I did previous Kindles. Buyers regret in this instance.

Fab colour and very robust but easy to use and nice enough on the eye considering it is mega drop proof. My 8yro quite happy having it on
