I wanted to surprise my daughter with this for Christmas, but she caught me watching a tutorial on quilling and started trying to do it on her own by cutting up her own strips on paper. She got into it pretty quickly after Christmas over her many other crafts and has enjoyed it. It comes with a lot of things that I think she will get use out of for a long time.

i bought this quilling set to learn how to create paper art. I was nicely surprised that the kit came with so much, I didn't remember everything it came with after ordering; It's a nice kit and comes with every color strip of paper, scissors, molding tools/templates, (2) quilling tools and a flower template. Its hard to give this review because im sure I'm not naming them correctly, as I've never done this before. My only complaint would be that It should come with a basic instruction book and then it would be complete. The price for this kit was well worth it also.

Great starter kit for an adult Beginner such as myself who can go online and rapidly find instructions, patterns, and video tutorials online, or buy an instruction book (beware: some are far more useful than others). But a child -- for whom quilling can be a wonderful hobby -- will be frustrated by the total lack of instructions or even a picture or two to demonstrate what quilling even IS. One glossy white card with schematic flower designs but no label on it remains a total mystery to me. If the giver of the kit is prepared to show the child the rudiments, that's a different matter of course. Every item in my kit was in perfect shape even if one doesn't necessarily know what its purpose is. Now that I DO know, and am beginning to sense what kind of projects I will be undertaking, I realize that some of them will remain unused, but that's OK, others customers will have different goals. I have concentrated on a variety of "snowflakes" and have gotten quite proficient if I do say so; the most fun is combining colors and shapes in different ways, and they have made great Christmas gifts. I am now eager for Halloween, as the color families I have left are largely browns, grays, and oranges! The main reason I gave 4, and not 5, stars, is that while the paper strips are all the length and width indicated, and the colors are lovely, different colors, even within one color family, are different weights; I'd say there are 2 or 3 different weights of paper represented. I didn't realize this until I'd been making my snowflakes for quite a while, and it does make quite a difference to how "sturdy" your design is, whether free-standing or glued to a backing. From reviews I've read of different quilling paper strip assortments this appears not to be uncommon, but it is something to keep in mind when undertaking a project. A word of warning: quilling is habit-forming...

Got what I paid for. The needle tools didn’t fit through the curling coach and some of the paper arrived a bit damaged. Nothing that will prevent me from using the kit though. Great starter kit for sure and I’m satisfied with my purchase.

It is exactly as described and even nicer than expected. All came in perfect shape and packaged nicely too. All paper is in separate packages. Very happy!! No instructions however it is so easy to get them on Google and elsewhere too.

This is an excellent quilling kit, particularly for a beginner or someone like me who hasn't done it since school, I wanted to get a set which had everything I could possibly need to pick it up again. The choice of colours included are incredible, the cork board, pins & pattern sheet are welcome additions, & it's so easy to fill up the glue 'dispenser' with PVA or something similar, reading the reviews prior to me ordering I saw a LOT of people complaining that the glue wasn't included in the set, but it doesn't say anywhere in the description that you SHOULD get glue, it's clearly stated that it's only the squeezy bottle! The only thing that I think is missing from an otherwise great beginners kit is some basic instructions on what each tool is, what they're used for, how to get started & so forth. Obviously you can Google the first steps or watch video's on YouTube, but personally I feel that as this is sold with beginners in mind it should be something that isn't overlooked, but as I say you can research elsewhere. The items did come in a flat brown cardboard box, almost like you would expect a book to arrive in, & all the tools are loose inside. Some form of 'Quilling Craft Box/Carry Case' would be a great addition, & I for one would be willing to pay extra for such an item. I had to spend time researching with other Suppliers/Sellers to get one suitable, which isn't the end of the world, it would just be nice to get it all as one unit.
