Great book to get started with earthbag building!
This is the first book I've read cover to cover - bachelor's and master's degrees included - that I've legitimately had to highlight and make notes on nearly every paragraph. It's a deep book in that it covers nearly all aspects of building, but it's not so heavy that the text goes over your head. If you have done a bit of earthbag building research and are familiar with at least the basics of construction, you should have very little problem reading through this book. There were just a few places I had to go back and re-read, most of which I understand (I'll read the book again this weekend to see if the ones I had trouble with are still an issue; otherwise, I may reach out to the author himself, who operates a very active online natural building community with the late Dr. Owen Geiger, www.naturalbuildingblog.com).The book doesn't spend a lot of time providing background and history and rationale like some other texts I've read through. For me, this is the best approach. It's a book for someone who has their mind made up about building with earthbags and needs the basic information to get started and keep moving. For more specific designs, you'll need to consult other resources or purchase building plans (also available online at the website mentioned above), but it's a great starter book that's gotten me moving. I can't recommend it highly enough - good luck with your building!

A good introductory book on Earthbad Architecture
A good introductory book on Earthbad Architecture. I was hoping for more from this book, but it is a nice easy to read introductory book on Earthbag Building. Perhaps the author might include more content/pages for a ~$20 book.....The book is, like I said, nice if you don't want to commit to a technical building book and just want an easy to read, introduction into some earthbag building.

Very helpful
This is a great resource! The methods are somewhat vague but the information is basic and not overwhelming for a beginner. Great resource for what NOT to do and an excellent foundation for building further knowledge and research into reliable resources for this subject. He includes a few good photos, and current, active websites for materials as well as links to other blogs and websites for further reference by others in this field.

Good but overpriced.
This is a description of how one person built several earth bag buildings. It is full of tips and tricks that are worthwhile if you intend to build your own. However, I was very disappointed at how skinny the book was when it showed up on my door. For the money I expected more.
