Radian 3R, 3-in-1 Convertible Car Seat, Rear Facing & Forward Facing, 10 Years 1 Car Seat, Slim Fit 3 Across, Jet Black

We have a 2007 scion XB & we tried the diono seats in hopes of holding off buying a brand new car before our 3rd baby arrived. We were able to install 2 diono’s along with our chicco keyfit carseat perfectly in the back seat! Our 4 yr old, 2 yr old (both forward facing) and our new baby will fit perfectly and comfortably in the scion. However, they only fit nicely in forward facing mode because when they are rear facing, the headrest is really tall & the recline is pretty steep, so it definitely would’ve been touching the back seat of the driver or passenger. You can feel the heaviness and durability in these seats compared to the evenflo & graco seats we had, but that’s what also helps me feel secure knowing the kids are safe. My husband is happy that we get to keep the scion for a little while longer! Team no minivan!

I love that I can stick these side by side in my 4Runner. You can place them rear or forward facing. The seats grow with your child and are very adjustable. They are very safe, breathe well, and my kids are more comfortable in these on longer trips or when we are stuck in traffic. They are also easy to clean and durable. They are heavier but not hard to move around. I would double check the seat measurements if you are putting this in the rear of a small sedan vehicle. SUVs and pick up trucks should not have any issues.

Super sleek, safe & sturdy. It’s so easy to strap the kids in & adjust knowing they’re safe & secure. I love the strap pads that would 💯 prevent any necks getting slit in an accident. It’s easy to take in & out but it’s definitely not recommended as a grab & go car seat. It’s solid.. the steele frame makes it pretty heavy so as long as you aren’t puny, you’ll be fine. You might break a sweat, transporting it and putting it in another car, but would you rather than be safe or in a cheap inexpensive Walmart car seat with straps that constantly twist. Super comfortable, apparently. My son usually falls asleep before we even get out of town. I bought one for my mom’s car and my husbands mom’s car. We have a different Dion model in ours but this one is easier to use honestly..

I switched from Graco to this one once my child moved to forward facing, but that wasn't my plan. I initially bought this as my airport/travel chair, but when it arrived and I felt how heavy it was, that was out but I decided to not return it and I'm so glad I didn't. My child is long and I felt she looked cramped in Graco. So when I changed her position, I took the Diono to the fire department to install (if you don't know, they do this for free) and they said that Diono was the creme de la creme, the best in safety. They said the weight adds value. They installed it SO TIGHT, that I feel soooo secure in the event of an accident that the baby will be alright. They said it's a bit difficult to install, but it was worth the work. It is the last seat I'll buy bc it lasts until 120lbs. It's slim in the car. I'm so pleased and the color is cute!!

We have a small suv with 3 small children & their bulk car seats did not fit! We did not want to buy a bigger car so my husband asked to buy this one and it is so great! I love the look of it , and it fits in his Tacoma with 2 other car seats! It is easy to install and remove in both cars. It might not be as comfortable as other car seats for toddlers, but my 3 year old doesn’t mind it. Definitely a great purchase

So, as a former CPST, I have a love/hate relationship with the Diono Radian (and its precursor, the Sunshine Kids version). It's a fantastic narrow, low profile seat that fits in seating situations that other seats can't. It's also the most uniquely difficult car seat I have ever worked with. The Radian has multiple 'rules' and 'modes' that must be switched based on the direction the seat is facing and the weight of the child riding in it, making it easy to misuse and impractical for any situation where you have to move the seat or reconfigure it often. However, knowing this, I diligently read the manual, tested everything out, configured it properly for my son (5 years old, 36 lbs, 42"). He is using the second harness slots from the top so he has room to grow. Installing it in the car was another trick. Of the three rear seating positions in our car, two have removable headrests and one has a fixed, forward head rest (the center seat). The Radian can be securely installed in either of the outboard positions, but it can only be used RF in the center seat because the fixed forward head rest does not allow the car seat to sit flush against the vehicle seat back. This was somewhat frustrating, because due to its narrowness it is an ideal seat to use in the center position, so I was a little bummed. However, it is now installed outboard for my son and is so low profile that my daycare kiddo has no problem climbing over him to get to his booster in the pick up line at school. Overall, this can be a difficult seat to use. 10000% recommend meeting with a certified Child Passenger Safety Technician if you purchase this one, just to make sure you're using it properly given some of its unique features. But as far as quality and ability to use next to other seats, it's great.

My daughter has been using it for years. The quality feels solid. Love the slim design and it saves space in the car. A practical choice for families with multiple car seats

I like to think I have a cool car and wanted a car seat that was safe, red and less bulky for my tall 4 year old. This exceeded my expectations. Hubby said it was a little complicated to install but it’s heavy, made of steel and my son loves it.

Great chair struggled to get a chair with a 5 point harness for my 5year old who can't use a normal seatbelt.

We love this chair; and have had a variety of other brand car seats over the years. 1) it's more narrow and streamlined than anything else we've used - which is why we bought it (3 kids in a 5 year window and a 3 across car seat configuration). 2) The straps adjust easily; tighten and loosen smoothly! (other seats we've used feel like you're constantly tugging and readjusting and just fighting with the straps. I've never fought with these). 3) maintenance is simple, cover goes on and off easily and you can throw it in the wash. It has other cool features we haven't used much, but I like that it can basically fold up if you ever travel with it. "Cons". a) The seat is heavy, so if you're moving it from one car to another often that would be a pain. Personally I like how solid it feels, and we don't move it much so it's not an issue. b) we put a small rip in the cover fabric the month we got it, but were able to sow it back up and no issues since (one of the kids climbed over the back of the seat and their shoe somehow snagged the cover). c) REAR FACING the seat leans back really far (further than any other seat we've used) - you have to move the front seat ahead of it quite a ways up for it to fit properly. They do sell an angle adjuster that can go under the seat to help mitigate this, but I haven't purchased one. Either way, we love it and maybe should've picked a more gender neutral colour. I wish we had started with this car seat from the beginning with our first kid.

These seats are great. I have six of them. Three kids, three vehicles, They are easy to fold, easy to swap in and out and they fit three wide in my sedan. There are very few car seats that fit three wide. I keep buying the same seats, with the same color so when I rotate them between vehicles the children aren't picky as to " that's my seat"
