No Coyotes Yet but Some Great Night Images
Your browser does not support HTML5 video. I bought this to keep any eye on my ponies which live in an outdoor enclosure. I've been hearing coyotes howling out in the woods and was wondering if they'd been around the barn bothering my ponies. No nighttime visitors have shown up yet but I'm very impressed with the quality of the night vision abilities of his trial cam. I set it to take photos and then begin to record video. Along the bottom of the video it gives the time and date and even the temperate in both Celsius and Fahrenheit. I've included examples of both the photo and video it's made.

Best trailcam yet!
Your browser does not support HTML5 video. Summary: I’ve had seven different brand and models of trailcams over the last 10 years, and the TOGUARD H45 is both the best and least expensive one I’ve ever used. I love it!Details:- Good instruction manual, the print is large enough to actually read, it contains everything you need to know and nothing you don’t. It’s in nice clear English and several other languages.- The camera menu is clear and simple, if you’ve used one of these before you really don’t even need to read the manual.- Unlike all other trailcams I’ve had, it remembers your date and time settings, even when you change batteries!- The image quality is the best I've seen of the 7 brands and models of trail cameras I’ve owned. The colors are accurate in daylight and the black and white images by the infrared light at night are sharp and clear.- The trigger speed is amazing, fast enough to catch a hawk in flight! See my sample image.- The videos are true HD quality, good enough to share on your TV or YouTube.- It’s handy having 3 separate sensors, you can turn on all 3, or just the center one.- The color LCD screen is a good size and good quality, again, best I’ve seen on any trailcam.- TOGUARD even includes a handy little bracket you can use to mount the camera on your house, or even as a mini-tripod if you screw the bracket to a chunk of wood. See my photo.- A pleasant surprise: Unlike most suppliers in China and a lot in the USA, TOGUARD actually has customer support! I had one technical question, and they got right back to me in less than 24 hours with a solution. I’ve had other products where the vendor actually expects you to send the product back to them in China at your expense! TOGUARD support is great.- One minor issue to be aware of: The specs don’t mention it, but the video format is AVI, which almost all software can handle. However, the October 2018 release of Adobe Lightroom Classic for Mac no longer imports AVI files. This is probably not an issue for most people because nobody really uses Lightroom to process video, but if you catalog your video files in Lightroom like I do, it’s a minor annoyance, not worth deducting one star for. Of course, you can always just use QuickTime or Irfan View, etc. to view and edit your videos, so this isn’t really a problem. Overall, I still really like the camera.

Home Security Use
I got this for the main purpose of capturing vehicles parked or passing by in front of my house as there was a DUI roll over in my front yard and to capture license plates if parked right in front. I get about 3-4 days (depending how many cars pass) of footage set at 1080 20 sec vid and one picture. I previously had it at 3 secs and then 10 sec vid but by the time the car passed the video would capture nothing. I can read the license plates as long as they are within 15-20ft, the car's plates in the middle of the street are hard to make out but i get to identify the vehicle. I put in 8 batteries and they drained within 2 days so i'll just hookup a cord later. The audio is a nice touch so I can hear what the exhaust or person sounds like. At night the picture is distorted due to low lighting but hey can't complain for the price. I put this on my lamp post and it blends well with the foliage.

Works Great
We put out food for outside cats on our deck. By morning food was gone so wondered if cats alone were eating all the food. We got this Trail Camera from Amazon and set it up that very night. Directions were not to bad to understand. By morning we found out who the freeloaders were so will not leave cat food on the deck overnight any more.

Excellent Quality For The Price!
Your browser does not support HTML5 video. We set up this camera mostly for security as we're on a dead-end road. We've got Ring for the doorbell at a different angle. The quality is amazing for this price. We priced a couple others well over $100 and their quality wasn't this good! Even the night picture, my neighbor can be seen clearly. The camera is awesome just to keep you informed of neighborhood activities.. We were gone to work and I had no idea the ambulance was here until I saw the video so I was able to go help and check on my neighbor. It's just SO simple to use and set-up. We tried it with a 2GB MicroSD and ended up opting for the 32GB to let it capture for a few weeks while we're on vacation. The battery life is amazing! After 25 days, still shows FULL! There were not any false-positives out of the basic default set-up. We didn't have to tweak anything. We have a lot of feral cats running around and it picked a couple up when only in our yard. We are VERY pleased with this camera. Again, so easy to use. Being in Florida, we get a lot of rain every day. This has stayed very dry inside. Good seal! I love that you can set just pictures or video, or both. The 24-hour clock is helpful as the entire timestamp is a great asset! I can't say enough about this TOGUARD camera. We'll be getting another for the backyard as we have a lot of wildlife and we want to capture them. Give this camera a try. You won't be sorry. Oh, and their instruction book is AMAZING! Very detailed. Just another confirmation that this company is top notch!

brilliant little night time camera for the price
Your browser does not support HTML5 video. Review of TOGAURD H40-1 Trail/Security CameraPackage contents: The package contents includes• Camera• Instruction manual• USB cable• Mounting strap• Wall mount and screwsWhat you will need to supply to use the camera• 8x LR6 (AA) batteries. Although you can use just 4xLR6 if you want to• 1x Micro SD memory card. Class 6 or higher up to 32GBThere is a 3 position on off switch which. Off, setup, on. To set up the camera to how you want it to operate slide the switch to ‘setup’ position and go through the settings to set the picture/video quality, intervals between taking pictures, trigger sensitivity, photo/video mode etc. When you’re done set the switch to ‘on’ position and away you go.Pictures in daylight are colour, pictures at night are black and white using the cameras 42 infra-red LED’s. Same with videos. If you set it to video and photo mode it will take a photo followed by a video of the time length you stipulate in settings.Basically setting the camera up is simple and logical even to someone like me who has no experience in photography. The camera seems to be quite robust with the inside workings protected but a rigid plastic outer covering. The mount provided can be screwed to a suitable surface and is connected to the camera via a tripod screw fit, the camera swivels to whatever position you require. You can use your own tripod if you wish. The strap provided will secure the camera to a tree or post.Overall I am impressed with the camera’s ease of use and rugged build quality. The quality of the pictures it takes is down to you. Obviously the higher the picture resolution the more space it takes up on the memory card highest resolution for pictures is 5376x3024 lowest is 1280x720 and there are a total of 6 different resolutions to choose from. Video resolutions range from1920 – 640x480 with 4 different settings. Audio recording is also available and can be turned on or off in settings. The lens is a wide angle 120°There is also a LCD screen to preview your pictures/videos in the field and to set up your field of view with. The claimed infra-red range is an impressive 72 feetThe manufacturer claims the batteries (8 number) will take 50 photos every day for 6 months. The instruction manual is ok at best but anyone who is familiar with digital cameras will find most settings self-explanatory. After 15 minutes I was completely ofay with its operation and use.For the price you get a lot of bang for your buck making it an affordable little piece of kit to play around with and to see what goes on in your garden when you’re not around. It has other uses as a security camera too, monitoring any comings and goings anywhere on or around your property such as unwelcome intruders, delivery drivers etc. The water resistant camera can be located in any outdoor situation unobtrusively to monitor the comings and goings of people or animals. The camera is camouflaged coloured and small so is easily hidden from view. The thing that sets this apart using it as a security camera is that it is battery powered therefore can be placed independently from a power source meaning that it can go right down the end of your property without the need of an electrical supply to it.Files can be write protected to prevent overwriting and are date and time stamped. The camera can also be set to only be active, in whatever mode you have set it up in, at certain times of the day so you don’t fill the memory card with things you don’t want. And will preserve battery life too.Time lapse is also supported so if you want to take a photo, at set intervals, of say flowers blooming, or the construction of something in various stages, you can.All in all it’s quite a versatile piece of kit with many uses, not just to see what is destroying your plants at night or eating the food you put out for hedgehogs but to monitor any comings and goings in or around your property. Results:I set the camera up in a friend’s garden to observe its secret nocturnal life. I set the timer to activate the camera from midnight-5am and to take two photos and a 15 second video every time the sensor was triggered. I kept the video and photo quality settings as they were when I received the camera. I left it for a period of 4 nights. My friend’s predictions of what would be captured were correct. A neighbouring cat was a frequent visitor. The quality of the photos and videos were very good and I am very pleased with the results. One word of warning here is this, firstly I set the camera up in my car, pointing it toward and area of trees and grass because I simply didn’t want the camera’s infrared sensor to give away the camera’s location and get stolen, only to realise that when I found, nothing captured, that of course infrared does not see through glass. I hope this review is of some use to people wishing to purchase the camera

very good for the price
Quick initial review after only a few days use. I recommend to actually read the manual (and overlook the minor translation issues), as it then becomes easy to use. Not that the device is quirky or anything, but instead the whole "user experience" is quite smooth if you do read the manual first. Nothing appears to have been lost in translation. The camera works a treat. And, it really is super useful to have the small built in screen with which to quickly review (video and audio) any clips, i.e. there is no need to take the camera back to your computer to check the contents if nothing notable has happened. I've never had a motion and night vision monitor camera before, so I don't have a benchmark, but I'm really happy with it. Now I just need the rat(s) to re-appear, even though I don't want them to, but I need them to so that I can start to attempt to block.

Works well in both low light and in the morning
Brought this to keep an eye on my kittens. They seemed to be running around a lot more and I needed a camera which would only come on when it detected movement. This was perfect because you can easily mount it with the included mount and its adjustable so you can either have a photo only mode or a variable length video.Once installed I've been monitoring my kittens to see what they get up to! And I have to say this has caught them messing about on the stairs more than once! Mom has also been caught a few times but since they've started using the stairs they've been getting a lot more mischievous. The footage will definitely be remembered by the whole family!

Working well one month on...
This is a great little device which has been working well since I bought it a month ago.Out of the box I found it straightforward to set up and use. The instructions are easy to follow and it all became intuitive very quickly. To save the batteries I set it to come on at dusk and switch off again at dawn. I check it every morning and if any photos were recorded overnight I take the camera indoors and transfer them to the computer using the USB cable. Alternatively you can pop out the micro SD card but I find that a bit fiddly - a full size SD card slot would be an improvement.Battery life seems good so far. I put 8 Duracell Ultra batteries in a month ago and they are still fully charged (I am only capturing photos, not videos which would use more power). Note that it will also work fine with just four batteries. It has been rained on several times without any problem, so does seem to be waterproof - but I will be taking it indoors if there is any chance of frost in the winter months.Image quality is OK, not prize winning but perfectly usable. You can set the photo resolution to between 1 and 16MP, but note that values above 8MP are interpolated. I find the 8MP photos look best (and are certainly big enough). It's important to get the vertical angle right when you set it up, otherwise the range of the motion sensor can be reduced. It may look level to the naked eye but if there is a slight upward slope in front it can end up "looking into the ground". You can check the range in 'SETUP mode' by moving about at different distances in front of it - a blue LED flashes whenever it detects you. If the range seems too short, try tilting the whole thing back a bit. This can make a big difference. Finally, TOGUARD's customer support is excellent. When I first took the camera out of the box Inoticed a piece of rubber seal bulging out the side of the motion sensor. When I queried this the support staff responded very quickly and sent out a replacement which arrived within 48 hours.Overall I'm very happy with both the product and the service.

Quite an impressive trail camera
I must admit that this is a better trail camera than I was expecting for the money. I do have two more trail camera's which were more expensive and are marginally easier to set up. Having said that, this camera does what it specifies and I was pleasantly surprised by the quality of the pictures it captured. Initially I found that inserting the micro SD card was a little difficult but with practice, got easier. The most important thing is to follow the very detailed but easy to understand instruction booklet which came with the camera prior to using. In my view, a decent trail camera for the price. The night pictures are really very good as too are the video recordings.
