Worked well for injured toe.
I am a size 7, foot length just a little over 9 inches, and was on the edge of the small and start of the medium, so I ordered both to see which would work better. Since it was my big toe that was injured I needed more space at the end than the small gave me to make the bottom more stable, so I went with the medium. It was long and I got it stuck on something a few times, but it didn't impede my ability to walk too much and it helped to heal my toe. I did wear a thick sock to help keep my foot from slipping out too much. If you're on the end of one size and it's an injured toe, go up to the next size. If it was my foot that was injured and not my toe, I would have stuck with the small.

Sweet, sweet relief
I hurt my toe when I fell down the stairs and my pinky toe met the top of my right foot. My right pinky toe was completely black on the left half after 2 days, and it throbbed with pain if I even looked at it. Walking was out of the question the first few days, and forget about shoes. This brace was the best $32 I ever spent, it hasn't taken away all the pain but I can actually walk around with it and go to work, and as an added bonus the sole height is very similar to my Skechers. So yay, I can walk again! It even hurts less walking than being barefoot. It's been about 2 weeks now and my toe still hurts but it's gone down to a small black spot, though it's still swollen and sensitive. May actually have to go see a doctor about it, but thankfully I can actually walk to the car and into the dr office with the Braceability shoe! I really should go....

Decent option for driving
I have a stress fracture in my right foot and need to wear a boot for 6 weeks. However, I also drive at least 3 hours a day and I do not feel comfortable wearing the “regular” boot while driving. This is a decent option to wear when driving. I can better sense the car gas/brake pedals compared to the regular boot and it gives better support than a regular shoe. I rarely wear it anywhere than walking to the car or driving though. I do not think it provides as good support or stability as my regular boot. If I need to run errands that will take more than 5 minutes I change to the regular boot before going in a store. Of note, I wear a women’s size 8 and the small fits fine; it’s a little too wide and is difficult to close tightly, but I don’t feel confident that an x-small will be long enough; medium was too long and much too wide.

Functional and well-made
The walking shoe has enabled me to get around despite a broken toe. I think a walking shoe is essential for most people who break a toe and would have difficulty wearing a normal shoe. The shoe also provides some protection for the toe and allows for a better recuperation. The shoe is well made and should last well-beyond my recuperation. Hopefully I won’t need to wear it again for another broken toe.

Great Choice
I bought this for a fractured toe after being very uncomfortable in the shoe I received at the doctors. I need a lot of cushion for very arthritic feet. I followed reviewers suggestions to size down and it fits perfectly. I usually wear a size 7 1/2 wide and I ordered size small and its perfect. It's about 3/4 inch longer than my longest toe and plenty of width, plus the width is adjustable. There is also room for adding an insole for more cushion. This keeps my toes from bending when I walk and its very comfortable. Great purchase and very thankful.

Okay but didn’t work in my case
The concept is good but it didn’t work for me due to sizing options and other foot issues. I ordered the small because the length of my foot is right at 9.25 and I wear a 7-7.5 shoe. I needed this for left mid foot pain. When it arrived I put it on. It did relieve the metatarsal pain but a chronic tendonitis I suffer from immediately flared up…not good. Additionally, it rubbed the back of my heel where I have a bone spur and I knew that area would quickly blister. Finally, I didn’t like the feel of the fabric at my big toe. The next size would’ve been far too big and I was afraid I’d trip with that on. For some, this may work just not those who are right at the cusp of the sizing that is offered.

BraceAbility Closed Toe Medical Walking Shoe
Like many of the people here, I ended up having to buy a medical boot to allow my foot to heal from an injury. In my case, I broke my pinkie toe. For a month, I thought I could make due on my own without buying any special equipment. I taped it, I babied it, I hobbled around in my winter boots...all was going well until I refractured it. After THAT happened, my husband convinced me to get a proper medical boot. I didn't want one of those big and clunky things that go half way up your calf, so I went searching on Amazon. This bootie was the perfect compromise. This medical bootie is SO easy to put on and wear. It opens completely up, allowing you to put on the bootie without any additional pressure on your injury. The various velcro straps made the bootie very secure on my foot. The size Medium was perfect for my size 7.5 foot. I also tried the small, but my foot was pushing out the front. I did have to borrow one of my husband's thick winter socks to wear inside the boot so my foot didn't twist or slosh in the boot..it kind of helped fill in the space. I could tighten the straps down but my toe was not having the extra pressure, so this was my work around. It is fairly lightweight but protective of the foot. I've accidentally stubbed my foot a few times while wearing this and it definitely protected my foot from any reinjury.I've spent 2 months wearing this bootie.... I went from hobbling around on my heel in it, to finally being able to put some occasionally pressure down, and now I can "walk" while wearing it. This has been a godsend after the refracture, and I wish I had gotten it when I first broke my toe. I've worn it in the rain and in the cold. I've even accidentally fallen asleep while wearing it, and it was still comfortable. It does best on smooth and flat pavement, but I've taken it out for a spin on grassy hills and my backyard. I've been using a cane to help with stability when out in public or getting in/out of my vehicle. I've finally gotten more mobility back and think I'll be out of the bootie fairly soon. I wanted to wait a fair bit before I wrote my review, to make sure it actually helped my injury, but I've been very satisfied with it since I bought it. I've put it through it's paces the past 2 months and it's still holding up fine.Highly HIGHLY recommend to anyone with a toe injury or foot injury. Skip the big bulky boot and get this one instead.
