Ghost Rider Vol. 1: The King Of Hell (Ghost Rider (2019-2020))

It not good to be the King
They changed it at the end. Usually the art work is the best thing about the Ghost Rider comics. The story is playing catch up. Call it a person opinion but I did not like the way Ghost Rider was drawn. The story on the other hand I thought had legs. This book contains issues 1 - 4 of the main Ghost Rider series, and a one shot side issue and an issue from the Absulute Carnage Symbiot of Vengence.Johnny Blaze is the king of Hell, but he is still trying to figure out his powers, stop breakout and if he has time stop a power play for his throne. While on Earth he runs into his brother Dan Ketch, drinking himself silly while letting his Ghost Rider out when it wants. Again Dan finds himself being a pawn in another game. If the book only contains these four issues I would have given it three stars. The only shot and side issues are so much better. Great art work and story as well. My only problem is they star Dan as the Ghost Rider instead of Johnny. Though the last page of the one shot given me a lot of hope for the future of this series.

Unimpressive
Well nothing about this gripped me, in particular, despite the "volume 1" numbering it's somewhere in the middle of an ongoing saga, oh and the volume is padded out by a story from another saga using some of the same characters.

Pretty fun
Happy to have this! Can’t wait to get the rest of the run. Wish we were able to see what the writers wanted to do after KIB though

Long live the King
Great story. Maybe a reprint but definitely a collectible in my house.

Good art; story is okay
I remember BOTH Ghost Riders in their primes. Both were bad-ass in their own ways, but it looks like the 90s GR didn't age well. This book isn't bad, not great, but I've been a GR fan since Johnny Blaze sold his soul. For me, Johnny is and always will be the true Ghost Rider, not Danny Ketch(up), or that kid with the low rider (Ghost RIDER, NOT DRIVER). The book is okay, GR busting heads and taking names, nothing new, but still a fun read.
