Disappointing addition to Dinky books
Very disappointed with this book, write up implies 'witty' observations. But the only writing on each page is a sentence taken from marketing publications. Photos are so- so. Not sure who it is aimed at . . . (Dinky collector for 40 years)

Learning
I did not learn anything new about the subject ; possibly I expected more from the book.

Great nostalgic stocking filler
We gave this to my husbands father as a little present to help us figure out which dinky toys he had when he was younger. It worked a treat and now we have managed to surprise him with some of the toys he originally owned.

Dinky Toys: Much Loved Dinky Toys from the 1950s
Kim Sayer has put so much love into this book - you can't help but love it too! Even if you have no interest in retro toy cars you will be charmed and amused by the witty way he has photographed the vans, cars and trucks. I am not going to spoil the surprise - but photographers and graphic designers are going to like it just as much as car and toy enthusiasts. And I'm a girl!

lovely pictures but not for the hardcore enthusiast
I enjoyed this book and the innovative and creative pictures and it helped me come up with ideas on how to display my own models, I also like the authors mentality that these toys don't need to be factory fresh to be enjoyed and actually look better with a little love. That said for a serious collector one should save up for something like the great book of dinky which has truly wonderful examples and is a great reference.
